Owning Luke is another thing that's indicative of great skill and power.

Marek won't be defeating an individual that Sidious is afraid to fight.

Marek couldn't defeat Sidious, and he won't be able to defeat his Peer, either.

The Dark Side Sourcebook explains that he was afraid she'd escape into the greater galaxy, build a power base, and eventually challenge him for supremacy.

Gethzerion probably takes this one. Killing 100 soldiers effortlessly, creating Force-storms that size, defeating Luke, and being feared by Palpatine himself is enough.

I still wonder if it speaks to her overall power that he didn't take the chance of wiping out the entire planet. Also the fact that he felt her overall strength at what I'm assuming was vast distance may attest to her being even greater than Marek in total strength and ability as well.

A talent like Marek will dominate the old witch with his brutality, fiendish good looks, and (should he need it) prodigious stamina.

There is no evidence that she would be fast enough to summon storm-clouds during fight or that she would be able to navigate those clouds to shoot lightning directly at Marek.

We assume that he can get close enough to her same way as he gets close to Sidious before flooring him in game.

Her excellent reflexes will not compensate for lack in saber skill and it's not like she is faster than Marek.
