Considering Rhino's supposedly just a minor role in this, I'm not that bothered. But yeah I agree that the comment is stupid. If they couldn't figure out how to do Rhino in a satisfactory way, then just don't use him. But personally I can't see what the difficulty is.

Don't forget these are the same people who still can't do a decent Green Goblin.

It's not like the way Disney/Marvel do it as in introducing a character in an additional scene. It's just a short scene from DoFP completely unrelated to Spiderman 2.You also see a bit of it in the trailer when Mystique is walking away from a military vehicle and changes from looking like a general back into her normal self. That's the end of the scene. The preceeding bit appears to be that humans have mutants fighting in the Vietnam war against their will and she comes in the frees them. Or something to that effect anyway.
thanks

If they couldn't figure out how to do Rhino in a satisfactory way then they shouldn't blame the fans...you know...the people who are gonna go pay to see this
I still have to see these movies. I haven't seen any since the Raimi trilogy, and to be quite honest, I guess I'm just bored of Spiderman. Compared to superheroes who can smash mountains and shoot repulsors, a guy with the powers of a spider just doesn't seem that interesting to me. Not to mention they'll never outdo Dafoe's or Franco's performances, and they're not even trying to do another Jameson because they know they've never outdo Simmons. While SM3 did kind of suck, and the Raimi trilogy did have some flaws, it just seems like this new series is trying to play catch up and only doing a mediocre job at catching the quality and feeling of authenticity that the Raimi series had at it's best. Again, i'm only judging off the trailers I've seen, so I have no problem admitting if I'm wrong.

I would recommend you watching The Amazing Spider-Man, since a lot of people not interested who caught it on dvd were surprised how good it was.
On the other hand, you seem to have a lot of respect for the Ramai trilogy which I think just sucked tbh. Too cheesy, was never impressed by Maguire and was getting fed up of him crying, and then Spider-Man 3 was so hyped and just ended up being terrible. And it never made any sense to me how all the villains had completely random origins. That got to me ever since the first one, and really ended in a mess in the last one.
Whilst TASM I found got Spider-Man spot on (as the wise cracking geek), has a deeper plot involving his parents an Oscorp, and is attempting to bring all the story arcs and super powered beings origin together nicely. Plus it takes it self more seriously with none of that Ramai cheese.
And btw I love a lot of Ramai's other work, I just don't think he did Spider-Man right. Webb though I think gets Spidey's transition to the big screen much better.
Still having a hard time getting excited about this movie. Even my son said he could care less if we went and saw it. I don't know if its the fact that I didn't care for the last one all that much or if its just superhero movie overload the past couple years.
Ironically, i'm kind of excited for GotG, and it looks kind of cheesy. Guess, i'll have to wait and see.
I liked Raimi's Spidey 2 which was clearly the best in that series..
now this brand new series, the first one wasn't all that great to me, I mean after all Martin Sheen should have said the iconic line of "With great power comes great responsibility" .. also they repeated the same stupidity of having him take off his mask, plus the female in peril script too which continues in the sequel.. if this new series is to be good when all is said and done it must stand up on its own merits

Seen it. I was pretty disappointed. Story's good but just too long a build up for one fight at the end which isn't even that amazing.Had a longer and slower build up than the first, with less exciting action scenes tbh.
