😆 Fair enough. Though I don't see the basic military stopping Vold from teleporting around the planet, blackmailing and threatening politicians and senators into doing what he wants. Especially when he has their loved ones under his control.
That's not really Tom's MO, nor does he have the knowledge needed to do so.

I'm saying that it's possible that the shield is a giant counter-spell, one that wouldn't even stop a guy from walking through if he wasn't magical.
It's quite clear they used the same explosive spell on the shield that they did on the buildings they attacked. The strength of the shield can thus be measured by the hundreds of explosive spells it withstood, and the explosive spell's yield can be measured by it's observed destructive effects on buildings. As proven by Arthur Weasley's muggle car interacting with Hogwarts, buildings in Hogwarts are just as physical and durable as non magical ones. So again, the strength of the shield can be observably measured.

It's quite clear?
By all means, tell me what spell they used on the shields and the small sections of the castle they were hitting.

I'm saying that it's possible that the shield only blocked the blasts because it acts as an anti-magic barrier, not allowing any spells to come in from outside, and it failed when it was strained by too much magic. I don't claim this as a definitive counterargument, I do however think that it's a valid theory without decisive evidence to the contrary.
Edit: I'm not saying magic only works on magic things. Don't strawman me. I'm saying it's possible (note: not saying "this is the case that..."😉 that the shield only works to repel magic, which isn't entirely unreasonable unless you can show it repelling non-magical objects/projectiles. As focus pointed out, this will be very easy to disprove if such evidence exists. As it stands you're wasting my time trying to strawman me and making irrelevant red herring arguments regarding the apparent destructive power of the magic blasts.
Oh, and lol @ calling the Weasley's magic flying car a "muggle" object.

Umbridge used a minor shield to repel an arrow from a centaur. Not a bomb level blast obviously, but proof that the shield repels the physical and not just "magic"
You sure about this? It kinda looked like she just knocked it out of the air to me. But it's been a while since i've seen it so i could be wrong.

ok everyone. lets focus on sadako's autoplay links to avoid the fact that the topic has already been concluded and the wizards lose.

pick one. it doesnt matter.
If it's the former, then yes the military have a chance
If it's the latter, the US lose because the military can't access the city through the shield

It was undoubtedly the shield
Seige means to surround an area and prevent the people inside from gaining supplies, conquering the area by attrition. That's why I asked are the military in the city when it's being sieged, or aren't they? If they aren't, the wizards will seize the city no problem. If they are, then the wizards chances will have went down enormously
Wizards seize city and military aren't in it: Wizards 9.5/10
Wizards seize city while military is in it: Military 7/10
