Personally, I'd feel that recycling old villains would be kinda cliche. Not to mention how it would kind of smear the original Titans' reputation. They took out all these villains/evil team-ups, and suddenly they're all back? I think we should stick with fresh faces. Make our own rogues gallery instead of relying on already established works, y'know?

Seconded.
There's that and the estimated time difference. Many of the Teen Titan's enemies had ages that made certain things they did relevant. Not only that, but it wouldn't make sense for some of them to still be around. The Adults would become Old People, The Old People would be dead, the Young people who fought because their school said "Fight" would now be adults and considering some of their lines of thinking... I mean, we saw it ourselves with Red X's entrance. His old user was an older gent now and apparently didn't use the suit. There aren't many that we could keep that would be practical.
EDIT: I should note that I'm only making such a firm statement so that I can settle the discussion, rather then trying to rub it in. If this is not understood, please void my comment.

No worries. You're perfectly understood. I actually thought the same exact thing going into this. I mean... Slade has to be "too old for this shit" at some point, right?
Okay, I figure I should speak up about this. If I recall, he did mention a fire girl. Athena's recruitment thing should have revealed that Nova is the only one nearby with fire capabilities so... She should get a bit of a hint from that and bring it up. Athena, as a leader, should settle things without violence. Also, having someone else fight her battle will show a great deal of weakness.
