that's not surprising to me.

Affleck was panned as an actor until recently.
Henry was an unknown until the Superman role.
Gal has relatively no following.
Ezra has a cult-like following but he's never been in anything this big.

Meanwhile, Momoa has a following from SG: Atlantis and GoT.

lowkey, Momoa has the biggest fanbase of anyone in this movie, so people being receptive to his character (warranted or not), should be expected.

It's not Momoa's looks that give me pause to him portraying Aquaman, I'm perfectly alright with Arthur not being a blonde. It's Momoa being a not good actor and my fear that he'll be another constant scowler who's mad at everything.

Aquaman can be a total badass though. eg Justice League: The Flash Point Paradox.

Aquaman's rep in pop culture went way down after Seinfeld, and everyone jumped on the Aquaman Is A Lame Character bandwagon. I never liked nor disliked him growing up, he was just...there. Never heard anyone claim him as a JL favourite. DC sensed this in the mid 1990's and started doing the heavy beard & hair + hook hand phase, to make him look tougher. This Karl Drogo as Aquaman move is the biggest push yet to get him respected.

Dont mind a better portrayal of Aquaman either its just the way they went about it is cringe worthy as fuq.

-Lets get an actor that looks badass, forget that he doesnt know how to act. We only care that he knows how to scowl and look badass.
-use the most predictable generic stereotypes to make someone seem badass.
-Tattoos(those are badass right?) Check.
-Angry, bad attitude, Check
-"tough' mannerisms, like smashing a bottle after drining it, Check.
-Grim/Dark mysterious "look" and clothing, check
-Little vocabulary, mostly grunts, Check (although this could be because the actor is best used with little dialog).

Whats next, Aquaman riding a Harley Davidson jet ski with flames coming out the exhaust?

Maybe the twist will be this is Lobo in disguise. 😛

That would be Iron Man 3 all over again, but at least it would spawn a useful, canon character into his own film franchise.

Lobo laughs saying "I pretended to be a superhero with my power to talk to fish, and you guys still came looking for me hahaha"

Anyone who panned Affleck as an actor obviously hasn't seen Boiler Room, Dogma, Changing Lanes, Good Will Hunting, The Town, Argo or Gone Girl.

If the trailers don't wow me going forward, I'm not watching this opening weekend.

If the above happens and it gets BvS level reviews, I'm probably not watching it in the theater. Rewarding Synder again for producing a turd just seems wrong.

I wont go during the opening weekend regardless, but I'm point with everything you said.

the last three would be the recently i was talking about. affleck was getting killed previously as just some hack who road Damon's coat tails.

Batfleck is a good actor, he just aint a Great Actor.

It's funny because I love and have seen all of those except Argo, but despite that literally anytime I see him I think he's just about to burst into laughter on screen. I dunno if it's because of the SNL appearances he's done or what, but when it comes to individual clips I have trouble taking him seriously, though I never get that feeling when I'm actually watching a movie with him and caught up in the story.

I gotta be honest, this trailer was a bit underwhelming...

I hope the movie turns out well, but I'm not holding my breath...

Hopefully DC doesnt show us too much of the movie before it comes out; that was a colossal error as pertains BvS that I pray doesnt get repeated here...

You know when the teaser trailer for Avengers was shown at the end of captain America, it blew my f*cking mind, cuz they'd been building towards for such a long time and it was such a huge thing to see it all coming together

With this, there's been no building towards it, it's been 'Marvels way ahead of us! Lets just show all of them in one scene on a computer in BvS!' I look forward to JL, but I'm not as excited as I was for Avengers.

LMAO @ Kaz and Stilt's posts

This trailer stunk. Here we go again. Can't wait to poke fun at Golgo the most obsessive box office numbers troll ever.

@Sayandeep_09 Johns and Affleck did some notable rewrites to the script.
