That sounds amazing.Too bad WB/DC doesn't care about making good movies.
I challenge anyone to argue that the Landis pitch isn't perfect. It introduces Batman and the Justice League to the Man of Steel universe perfectly while having a menacing Lex Luthor god damn. How do talentless hacks like Snyder get all the power while others with intelligent ideas get shafted ****
in Max's plot, Lex somehow convinces Superman to capture the rest of the league (who are presumably saving lives, albeit as vigilantes)... let's ignore the stupidity in Superman just doing this w/o talking to any of them first... ok, so once Superman has captured them all, Lex's plan is use them as his own personal army... how, Sway? How is Lex gonna make the entire league do his bidding? Here are some options:
1. A strong telepath who forces them to comply.
2. A Starro type of alien/creature who forces them to comply.
3. Threatening their loved ones.
4. Some sort of tech that inhibits their actions
5. etc. etc.
okay... if Lex has any of this up his sleeve, why in the hell does he need Superman to capture them, and furthermore, if he has something so powerful at his disposal, why not just use it on Superman to force him to comply instead of doing the whole "we can help each other" song and dance.
his idea sounds better then BvS, sure, but nothing is perfect. I (or anyone) can poke holes in any idea.
Also, if you think Max came up with all that on the fly, you're a herb and i can make you a millionaire, all i need is your ssn. Several people in this forum alone were coming up with MoS sequel ideas the day after we saw the movie. You can't be naive enough to think Max pulled that entire plot out of his ass on the spot. stop it.

The core concepts and really general direction of Max Landis' pitch involve a Superman who is beaten down by the hatred and negativity towards him, akin to how muslims were treated after 9/11.
Then he meets a figure who inspires him to be something and changes his image in the public eye radically. The figure becomes an ally to superman and develops a sway or influence over him, which he then uses to take out all the pesky vigilantes aka flash, cyborg aquaman etc... Batman confronts Superman and at first they're enemies, but ultimately Bats exposes the seemingly good guy figure to be the villainous Lex Luthor with an evil plan. Once supes realizes bats is right, they team up to rescue the captures vigilantes and defeat Lex before he kills them or something.
It's simple, it's meaningful, Lex actually has a purpose and we get to see the formation of the Justice League in a clean fresh way.
Also I don't find it hard to believe Landis came up with it on the fly, he's written what 90 screenplays and sold 70 of them within a year. The guy processes ideas and stories at crazy speeds but that's not the point. Should the pitch have been the actual model for the script, a little refining here and there and it's a perfect start to the Justice League. I haven't heard a cleaner simpler idea from anyone else yet but just imo I guess if you have...

Making Superman that naïve would never sit right with me, but maybe that's just me.
it's not just Superman being naive, it's Superman being dumb, irrational and illogical... things that Superman has never been and should never be. The crux of plot requires that Superman be a moron who isn't capable of thinking for himself.
Also, Superman wouldn't fall into depression or need to be told to help fix metropolis.
Outfit reminds me of Owlman. Going Ito this movie with low expectations, though it will be cool to see Black suit Superman and the fight scenes. They'll likely score a critical hit with the solo Batman film though, and that's assuming this and Wonder Woman received mixed eception which will likely be the case

Eh, I could see Superman being a tad depressed, but he's the kind of person to try to drag himself out of it.
