that's where.

Hm.. I don't see anything there about a potential teaser release soon. But I didn't know this...

Alien: Covenant May Feature Guy Pearce Appearance

That's cool. Hope it's true. Guy Pearce is awesome and should be put to more use.

Pearce would make a good captain for the Covenant.

So some odd news...

They're apparently going to have to replace the film composer...

Some more little tibits of news, some of which are still a bit cryptic...

Undergoing some minor reshoots in England, also some talk of posters & trailer in mid December...

Alien: Covenant undergoing minor re-shoots at Leavesden Studios

First poster and a new release date

Best.
Movie Poster.
Ever.

"Run"

LOL that's classic!

YES I woke up to this this morning!!

Best news ever, too, with the release date moving up!

Or is that the release date for a trailer? heh

I think the poster pretty much confirms the film's breaking away from the Prometheus storyline regardless of Ridley saying he was over the Alien angle.

Still...that one simple tag line: Run.
-goosebumps-

Great poster.

Simple but elegant.

They're not abandoning the Prometheus mythology.

They're just bringing back the xenos, probably from studio pressure to get the nostalgia market.

The Alien continuity is so confusing, it's really frustrating to try and follow exactly what's happening IMO. Like I'm trying to figure out why, if the Predator movies and the PvA movies are set hundreds of years prior to the first Alien movie, everyone is so shocked that these xenomorphs exist. Shouldn't people have already been aware that they've been to Earth before and people have seen them? Also, where are all of the predators during Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 etc? And presumably Alien Covenant?

My understanding is that AvP and Predator(s) (2) is/are not canon to the Alien universe.

Granted, it is confusing that they keep crossing them in the comics, but as far as the movies go, I consider the Alien universe separate. I'm pretty sure Ridley would agree. (I've only read the Prometheus and Alien comics, don't particularly care about the AvP and Predator ones.)

And by the way, I agree. It is confusing trying to keep track of what happened before what, etc... I think this is the rough chronological order:

2093 - Prometheus
2103 - Alien: Covenant
2122 - Alien (1979)
2179 - Aliens (1986)
2179 - Alien: fire & stone (comic)
2212 - Prometheus: fire & stone (comic)

Keep it simple. Fu#k the AvP movies. They're awful anyway. And the Predator movies are separate.

Some good reactions are in from the trailer....

The Preds/Weyland-Utani wiped out all evidence of the Xenos in the two films. I'm sure the idea is that any continued arrivals by them were covered up similarly. Weyland also took over and covered up the Preds presence in Predator 2. The Space Marines have no idea that Xenos exist in Aliens.

It seems that the cover up has been pretty thorough.

I don't think it's been released or leaked yet.

Some more set photos leaked...

Looks great...

If that's the same film set (Fox Studios) Lucas used to film his last 3 SW flicks, then it's only a 20 minute walk from where I live.
