Is this the music from the trailer? I like it a lot...
I will not be watching anymore trailers. That's enough to show me that it will be amazing. Looks like Weyland-Yutani will be far more aware of things than we thought at the arrival of Alien in the series timeline. The part with the spore was also pretty interesting; Sci-Fi films more than books--actually horror as well--tend to favor much more heavily having characters risk exposure to unknown environments than safe procedures would allow...
unless of course it turns out they're back on earth or some such and exploring a site after it's been exposed to the black goo without their knowledge. Bishop wasn't the only version of himself, so no reason to think that David is either, and it's quite possible we're getting a glimpse of another expedition and won't be seeing him and his redheaded partner in crime on the Engineer home world until late in the film. If not, it's just bad procedure.

Yeah, I think (hope) we'll see more of David and Shaw and hopefully some Engineers/creepy creatures in the 3rd act of the film. There are two Michael Fassbenders in the movie. David and Walter. Here is Fassbender contrasting them a little bit...
“I think Walter’s a real different kettle of fish, David was definitely a work-in-progress, somewhat of a prototype I suppose. The elements of him that were the human elements I think people found a little disturbing, so Walter’s more of a straightforward robot. Pretty logical, much more of a servant without the ego.”[Source]
So many things in the first movie weren't explained. Why is David infecting the other dude? What was that supposed to accomplish? I thought the whole point was so the old guy could..not die?
Why the hell was everyone so damn calm after this woman aborts an alien baby? They had restrained her and tried to force her to have it against her will once they got back to Earth. Then it's..meh, f*ck it. You escaped and killed your evil alien baby and..we're not even going to examine it's corpse because..reasons?
Well, maybe the other actors will pull him up to their level. He wasn't bad in True Story, seems to have some real ability, and on top of having good actors around him here he also has Scott directing, so I'm not too worried. Let's hope it turns out well.
And yes, even the minor preview here gave away some things that I didn't want to see, though one of them would have been pretty obvious as to where it was leading if you've seen Alien anyway, so it wasn't a huge deal. Plus, that first preview was perfect in terms of pulling me in. Honestly builds up the sense of dread that a film in this franchise should have. If the films continue to be on this scale then I have no problem at all with the redux for the events after Aliens at all.
Interview with Waterston...
When I first saw the original Alien, I didn’t even know what I was about to see, I had never seen a trailer or anything. My friend’s older brother put it on to traumatize us — which it did – and I think that will be the most fun way to watch this movie too — with fresh eyes.http://comicbook.com/2016/12/25/alien-covenant-bridges-prometheus-and-alien/
Yup!! 😄

Good point!

And no one's mentioning Danny Mcbride being in the film too?
Oh believe me, we noticed. 😂
But I actually kind of like the idea of someone like Danny McBride to some extent, because he will look just like a slobby regular guy, just like some of the characters in Alien.
