From the behind the scenes images I've seen I know they are going to have more Engineer statues and such. So I think there must have been another disaster on their home world.

^ Hey, man. Keep up some hope that they're just not showing the more original stuff in the trailer. I'm certain that Ridley is not going to abandon the Engineer storyline, because that was his whole reason for returning to the series. If he has to retread some Alien lore to do that it's fine by me.

This film should rock.

My only annoyance is having to wait 3-4 years between films. AND Ridley is old and may not live forever! But I think it's clear that he'll keep making movies as long as he's alive. I think he's a workaholic. I bet he WOULD die if he stopped making films.

Because an argument like 'so what if it's the same, it can be handled differently' is so lame. It's an attitude that doesn't quite invite originality.

But its not just this movie i'm pointing at

even in the 2017 lineup thread, You're bitching about alot of the movies.

Because a lot of them are reboots, remakes and sequels. Or in your words: more of the same, maybe handled differently.

It's the same critical point of view: lack of originality, plodding along well-trodden paths.

After all that talk, Neil Blomkamp might not direct Alien 5 after all
