This guy has my favorite review of the film by far. He nails the frustration, you can tell a part of his soul died when he saw Covenant. 😂
And he also has a brilliant take on what they should have done to follow-up Prometheus, which is show the xenomorph origins from the Engineers' perspective, no humans.

They apparently overestimated the hate for Prometheus because Covenant pissed off people far more. This supports my theory that the bitchy Prometheus haters were much louder than the people who liked it, so the studio decided to literally bomb everything Prometheus set up.
Fu#k, I say forget Covenant ever happened and let Denis Villeneuve do a proper sequel to Prometheus. Ridley Scott has clearly lost his mind.

the more you watch Prometheus the worst it gets, i liked it at first but now it's unwatchable because of the bad writing and stupidness. i am sure Covenant is even worst. phuck ridley scott and fox 👇

The Martian is great. I had the benefit of listening to it on audiobook. It's very entertaining that way.

Regardless of what you think of Prometheus it opened up so much amazing potential. And Covenant just threw it all away. I think people have sensed that and that's a big reason why Covenant has alienated (no pun intended) people.

So even if this pile of dog shit ends up making a profit worldwide, it still should go down in history as a massive box office failure...
Fourth place belongs to Alien: Covenant, which dropped a massive 71% in its second weekend, delivering a mere $10.5 million for the three-day. This is the second largest second weekend drop for a film playing in over 3,700 theaters and considering the largest drop within that group is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, which opened with over $169 million, it's hardly comparing apples-to-apples.
Prometheus was amazing--for the first 20 minutes or so. Everything beings setup, the solo scenes with David, and the amazing shots of space and coming down on the planet. From there it all fell apart and it's easy to understand why people who weren't there to find out what led up to Alien had no interest in looking beyond the stupidity.
Scott has lost his mind. He had all the "adult" trailers talking about how this film was supposed to scare the sh*t out of everyone. Well, it certainly scared my wallet, cause I won't give another dollar to the franchise so long as he's a part of it. I think it's really time for him to retire.
