I don't think lifting weights makes you taller.
Though it's a good idea overall, a nice shaped muscular physique might take the attention off his miniature and Hobbit-like stature somewhat.
If your growth plates haven't closed yet, you still have hope for getting an inch or two, provided you follow a proper diet, get lots of sleep, and do tons of stretching exercises(for long durations) in the gym.
