Riddick (2013)

Easy fella, you don't want to John Carter yourself again.

😂

Don't speak unless spoken to, 'tard.

Just looking out for you, boy. You're building this movie to be the most spectacular and rewarding piece of cinema in your mind; it can't possibly live up to the grandiose pedestal you've built under it.

I'm a fan of the series. There's very little chance I won't like it. And no one likes to be condescended to. So cut it out.

Edit: Oh, and I think Vin might have taken that last post I mentioned down. I can't find it. I wonder if the studio requested he remove it or something. It did seem awfully presumptuous.

For the record, there's nothing wrong with John Carter.
It was a bloody fun movie to watch.

Indeed

i hate how the box office is viewed....."This movie made very little" oh so it must be bad.

That's not his point. But this thread is not about John Carter or ME (for that matter), no matter how much he tries to make it that way. It's getting quite obnoxious.

Regardless of the point...I grew up reading John Carter & the movie didn't disappoint me whatsoever.

The movie was shit.

That you grew up reading John Carter is probably why you enjoyed the movie.

Start another thread & tell me why it was shit.

Go read the thread where I already explained in great detail with zero opposition why it was shit.

I believe the thread is called "John Carter".

Pretty odd, "I have to like it cos it's Riddick". But okay. Then stop instigating the condescending jabs if you can't take them back. Good.

Search was futile.
Regardless, I enjoyed it.

Don't bother with him

he like's lots of action & Explosions for his movies.

Ummm I don't know how accurate the rumour is but apparently the planet we see Riddick on is actually his home planet of Furya.

Think that's partly accurate. I remember reading a synopsis that strongly hinted that the planet with the creatures and mercs is the same one from Pitch Black. He then apparently leaves the planet and returns to Furya to 'save it from destruction'. So I get the feeling the trailers are all showing only half the film.

I highly doubt it's the same planet as Pitch Black.
I mean they crashed landed on an unknown planet to begin with.
There's going to be a groan-factor if it does turn out to be the same...

If I remember correctly the quote was something like 'Riddick finds himself in familiar surroundings' so it can be interpreted a few ways. That he's on a similar barren planet being chased by mercs. That he's back on his home planet. That he's somewhere we've seen previously.

It certainly looks a lot like the planet from Pitch Black and some of the creatures look and act similar. Also the pic of him with the weapon made from a giant bone is quite similar to the skeleton sizes from Pitch Black.

Can't say I'd be disappointed with that. Pitch black was the vastly superior film.
