I'm a fan of the series. There's very little chance I won't like it. And no one likes to be condescended to. So cut it out.
Edit: Oh, and I think Vin might have taken that last post I mentioned down. I can't find it. I wonder if the studio requested he remove it or something. It did seem awfully presumptuous.

Pretty odd, "I have to like it cos it's Riddick". But okay. Then stop instigating the condescending jabs if you can't take them back. Good.
Think that's partly accurate. I remember reading a synopsis that strongly hinted that the planet with the creatures and mercs is the same one from Pitch Black. He then apparently leaves the planet and returns to Furya to 'save it from destruction'. So I get the feeling the trailers are all showing only half the film.

I highly doubt it's the same planet as Pitch Black.
I mean they crashed landed on an unknown planet to begin with.
There's going to be a groan-factor if it does turn out to be the same...
If I remember correctly the quote was something like 'Riddick finds himself in familiar surroundings' so it can be interpreted a few ways. That he's on a similar barren planet being chased by mercs. That he's back on his home planet. That he's somewhere we've seen previously.
It certainly looks a lot like the planet from Pitch Black and some of the creatures look and act similar. Also the pic of him with the weapon made from a giant bone is quite similar to the skeleton sizes from Pitch Black.
Can't say I'd be disappointed with that. Pitch black was the vastly superior film.
