Marvel had a good gameplan in acheiving an Avengers film but first needing to lay the groundwork with individual characters first. They made all the films tongue in cheek and succeeded.
Nolan Batman films set them back. They made money due to the basic "lets make Batman human" angle. But didn't make us believe such a Bats could be a member of a Justice League.
Man of Steel will rock. But it will be DC's first step in moving ahead towards a larger universe.

thor had its moments, but all in the form of humanizing comic relief which was the only thing that softened it up a bit and made it feel at least a bit organic. (i loved ironman1 because it excelled in just that) but overall lacked anything beyond predictable linear forced plot and generic cgi-spam action sequences.
They went with the Straczynski style of storytelling. Thor in a small town. But without the back story.
They had 2 hrs to show-
-What the Asgardians were.
-Thor as a punk that needed humility.
-Him being somehow degraded to having to live amongst humans in Midgard.
-A love affair with Jane.
-Loki performing a large scale threat.
And they not only gave us that but supplied good humor, threw in the Warriors 3 and Sif. And threw in an Excalibur sword in the stone style back story in relation to SHIELD for good measure.
The film rocked.

cap was just abysmal.
Nah it was decent film. I'm curious, what in your mind would have made the perfect Cap Origin movie?

im hating because it sucked. i've seen more engaging plots on monday night raw 😬
Dude, it's a popcorn movie. An origin story of a team of characters already shown in previous films.
What did you want?
Comics are made for children and teens but are remembered with nostalgia by certain geeky adults. You have to watch these films in the mindset of a kid.
There is no way The Avengers would've been a deep and tragic tale like Watchmen.
Screw that.
