As goofy and bland as this movie was at times (hell, the first one was too, and it used pretty much every major beat from the first film), I thought it was fun and (unintentionally) funnny and would like to see the series go interstellar and bring the battle to the aliens' doorstep. I honestly don't see why people were so disappointed in this... it was the same as the first. I think people just forgot how stupid the first one was. Yeah, obviously it's not gonna have the same impact as the first, especially missing Will Smith, but it delivered some fun and nice set pieces.
Pros:
Goldblum's plan saving the day again
Alien queen stolen from Aliens
Bill Pullman's beard
Brent Spiner is awesome
Cons:
No Will Smith, just his boring son
No longer a stripper, just a boring nurse or something
Special effects and alien ship were too much/too big
Why the hell didn't they show the base on Saturn?? (just casually mention it got destroyed)
Has this turned enough profit to justify a sequel? I know it's made about $375 mil worldwide on a $165 mil budget which is a profit, but not exactly great.
I can actually almost see myself getting this on Blu-ray. The final sequence with the alien queen was kind of fun. The movie really did need Will Smith, though. I think that might be a big reason it didn't perform as well at the box office. I think it would have behooved them to wait on Will to finish with Suicide Squad so he could be in the movie. Big mistake, but I guess hindsight is always 20/20.

You actually gave a **** about most of the characters though. Even ultra Jew judd Hirsch. In the new film he has a pointless story the culmination of which is being a creepy pedarast and asking a load of kids to live with him.
Haha... yeah, that was completely unnecessary! 😆

Watched this at home last week; which made me happy as it was utterly awful. Really nothing positive I can say about it. Don't waste your time.
Do you not follow Quanchi's motto of "In with New, Out with the Old"?
This is autmatically better than ID1, because it is newer 😂
It wasn't good, no, but I actually think some of the awful campy stuff sort of redeemed it. The former President taking over the Randy Quaid character, haha... Brent Spiner was funny and entertaining, there were many fun, campy set pieces, and the final queen sequence was fun. Hell, even the abrupt ending was comically entertaining, almost with comedic timing.
I wonder how well it will work with another viewing.

TBH, I don't really bother reading what he writes anymore, as I know it's going to be something not worth reading (moronic); every time he has written something interesting in the past, it's something he's either copied from another poster or taken from a screenrant or cinemablend article. I typically see the name and scroll on down to the next poster.
But so not surprised he enjoyed this.

I found zero camp-quality in this, glad you did though 👆
The end queen scene was pitifully bad, here she's about to extinguish all life on Earth, but she just has to destroy a school bus with s few teens and an old Jewish man in it. Has too.
