Batman: Arkham Origins

That Bruce Wayne DLC sounds nice, but I would have rather had something from after the game, not before it.

Finally leveled up high enough to prestige on the multiplayer earlier. Kind of a bummer that I'll have to level up things like my action-pump shotgun, assault rifle, and battle rifle again to level 9 (and maybe submachine gun if I feel like going through that again), but I'm curious what the mentioned bonuses are that you get as you level up again after prestiging. The Darkest Night and Beyond skins are the main ones I'll use for Batman now though as far as online. 😄

Wanna play the multiplayer sometime BlackZero? Even though I got all the achievements on it now, it's one of those things I'd be up for playing again pretty much anytime with someone. Got a lot more fun and stuff out of it than I would've anticipated, from what I had heard about it before (has a very similar cover system to Gears of War and such, surprisingly). Of course others that don't have nerves and patience of steel like me might not be able to tolerate getting KO'ed by Batman or Robin out of nowhere after awhile when trying to focus on the enemy team... I got used to it though.

Weird how when you host a match, you can choose what game type or whatever you want it to be, but currently invisible predator is the only mode as far as online. Is that an implication there will be other modes added to the multiplayer in the future via the season pass or something? I know it's not what some would like to hear, but just a thought..

In any case, still not really sure what to think of that Bruce Wayne DLC until I hear or see more of it.

Absolutely! I haven't gotten too high in level yet because I haven't been able to get into very many games! Im going to a concert today though. So I wont be on but I will message you when I do get on!

Hmm'k, sounds good. 👆

For getting into games, I've usually had to invite randoms back to the lobby who left because they were too impatient for a game to start, but they usually accept the invites, so normally end up having enough people to start a game in the end. And when there's a shortage of people afterward, some that I previously played with end up inviting me to another lobby, so it all works out. That or some randoms leave because they want to change their character loadouts again afterward, then they accept my invite again. Would recommend trying that next time you're on AO disc 2, especially if I'm not on at the time. That way you'll get some more progress before we play. xd

I'm usually most available to play on Friday and the weekends (and Thursday if I'm lucky). Monday through Wednesday is when I'm more busy with work and stuff now, so yeah.

Just so everyone is aware the so called "Story" DLC is actually just challenges with a story narrative.

Uuugh... Well you know how I feel about having to do more repetitive challenge map stuff, so I didn't like the sound of that initially, but if they actually do a good job on the story narrative part, then I won't complain too much, especially if they have the Bruce Wayne challenges on different maps than the ones they had for Batman and Deathstroke, thus giving a different feel.

Apparently there's an optional DLC for the multiplayer where you can buy a sawed-off shotgun for a cheap price. Thought the pump-action shotgun was similar enough to the gnasher from Gears, so the mode having a sawed-off now too is just Gears of War 3 deja vu. lol With how much I hated using the sawed-off in Gears, I think I'll still stick with that other mentioned shotgun in AO multiplayer.

Wonder what the next extra weapon will be. They also released another skin pack that you also get for free from the season pass, from what I saw last night. Can't seem to use those new skins online though aside from the one for Robin. 🙁

I take back what I said about the sawed-off, at least as far as AO. Love it in this game. The reload time's more forgivable than I thought compared to Gears' sawed-off, as is the range. There's just something about getting a sawed-off kill on a Batman or Robin player as they try to do a beatdown on you that's so satisfying. Does decent damage to Bane and the Joker as well compared to most weapons, especially if done in conjunction with a grenade throw.

yeah its kinda disappointing when you put it like that and Shiva is probably gonna play the same, so everyone hoping for her to get redeemed in the DLC and gonna get Screwed Over, but i will let you know when i play cuz i got the Season Pass 🙂, Shiva probably wont be difficult for me cuz i got a flawless victory against her in all the Campaign trials in Hard Mode, i do however like the sort of clever way of replacing his Gadgets, but other than that, you summed up the DLC, and its kinda disappointing

Looking forward to playing it when I get the chance later today, though I get the feeling it has less story to it than that trailer Kazenji posted.

Still have some hopes for Shiva regardless. If she at least has more of a decent role in one of the DLCs I'll be satisfied.

Yeah, the way they seemed to replace Batman's gadgets with Wayne's ninja stuff is clever.

So it's just additional challenge maps with two skins? Not another "Harley Quinn's Revenge"?

I'm going give it a pass even if it adds to more Trophy's/Achievements to the game

give us some single player DLC.

Okay here comes my Honest Opinion and Review of the Arkham Origins DLC.

right of the bat, you are put into the pre challenge map mode where perks and handicaps can be assigned and the only one available and highlighted is the Time Handicap, once you start Master Kirigi gives you the welcoming speech that we saw in the trailer, and then its on to the challenge

the first map is a Combat Map and to get Three Medals you have to get a score 0f 75,000 and for a Pro-Gamer like me it was kinda difficult the first time around, in the Combat portion of the DLC, you will notice that you do not have the many gadgets that you would have in the normal mode, and certain combo takedowns are taken away, you have a total of 3 Rounds in the first challenge map and once you start to finish the rounds more enemies will come out of the smoke, mostly ninjas and more sword wielders and thats about it, in these rounds you have your typical armored thug, normal thug, and ninja thug, also some of them have weapons resembling the knife and car door shield in the normal game, take into account that you cannot break the shields like you can the car doors. the only combo take downs that work is the standard one and the multi one, so don't expect to break the Bamboo Shields and Swords.

Before the predator challenge map begins you hear Kirigi talk again and says the environment thing he said in the trailer, and as usual you have your Three Medals, entitling you to do crazy stuff, and in these maps theirs your typical Sniper, Scout, and Armored Thug.

The Last Map is a 2 Round Combat Map and it has more Ninjas and Martial Artist dudes, to get Three Medals you have to get a score of 50,000 which was pretty easy and in the last round you have to face Shiva and like i said before she has no redemption in this DLC, she is even easier to beat than the normal version of her which kinda makes sense, but yeah the Shiva fight is easy and all you have to do is stun and initiate a beatdown on her like 3 times and she loses a shit ton of health with each hit, take into note you can only hit her on counter or stun, if you try to attack her straight on she will block your attack like an armored thug.

Overall there is a total of 5 Challenge Maps, 2 Predator and 3 Combat(One Combat map is a 1rounder with a score of 75,000 so you gotta be perfect), there is 2 additional costumes Vigilante Costume where he is wearing an All Black Leather like Ninja Costume and his Costume you see in the Trailer. The Combat and Predator looks good and captures the look of the place very well.... and thats all it really does, especially since their just Challenge Maps, it doesn't really make you feel like your in a new place especially if your just forced into each other Challenge Map and it doesn't allow you to admire its beauty, it takes away the freedom that the Campaign offers and the ability to admire the new setting and landscape through the means of a Story now im not expecting something Uber i just want it to be like the other DLC we got for City, and if you wanted that.....well your gonna be disappointed.

IMO its kinda lazy, like somebody on this forum said its Challenge Maps with a Narrative and thats the Truth, and it feels kinda Lazy, i don't mind the premise or setting of the DLC i just don't like how we are getting it, its not like Arkham City's Harley's Revenge DLC, it's just Challenge Maps, no real story, and Bruce Wayne doesn't talk not ONCE, he just lets Kirigi chide him and make him feel like he doesn't belong probably to motivate him but idk, overall i say if you don't have the Season Pass its not really worth getting, especially since the costumes cant even be used in the Campaign, and their in a completely different pallet than Batman and Deathstroke, the way they remade the enemies is kinda innovative and kinda lazy at the same time IMO but thats up for you guys to decide

the Arkham Origins DLC gets a 6/10, the lack of a Voice for Bruce, a lengthy DLC and a redeeming Shiva fight is what holds this back, and i cant recommend it for everyone, i like it but its not what im really looking for in terms of DLC since Arkham City and their DLC story was amazing and kinda lengthy, so i kinda had big expectations for it, other than that its not bad but it still feels kinda lazy, anyway thanks for reading and i'll see you guys on the Next Angry Joe Show LOL JK 🙂

Glad I'm not the only one whose tired of them overusing the challenge map stuff, at least as DLC. They probably shouldn't of even had trophies/achievements for it like how there was none for doing the challenge maps with Deathstroke, but I did most of them with Slade anyway because I love his character. Bruce Wayne on the other hand, doesn't feel quite as fun to use as Slade or Batman, even as unique as his shuriken specials kinda are.

I will have to admit though that on the last map, Shiva fought more uniquely (not simply like another thug or like just another ninja with a sword) and was more tricky & challenging as a result. She fought as well as the game could've made her fight as a ninja warrior I guess. Still, quite a step up from her boss fight in the main campaign, IMO.

And yeah, the lack of voice for Bruce is disappointing, and when you play the regular maps as Bruce, you don't hear any of the leaders in the background (Black Mask, Branden, Mad Hatter, Joker, etc.) when you take down a thug in the predator maps. Would've thought they would've made 'em have something interesting to say about Bruce like they usually do with Batman and Deathstroke, but nope.

Skins aside, here's to hoping the rest of the season pass/DLC isn't just an excuse for them to give us more challenge maps. I heard that on the multiplayer there will be another mode added where everyone gets to team up to take down the Batman (players take turns being the bat each round or something I guess, while everyone whose playing a thug is on the same side trying to take him down, like your typical predator room scenario I guess).

So I started playing Arkham Origins and I went to the Bat Cave to get the new Grenade and now whenever I try to fast travel, I'm stuck in an endless loop in the Batwing loading screen with no audio.

Any fixes?

Edit: Okay, I fixed it by reloading, doing some combat training and using some upgrade points before fast traveling.

So far my major complaints are that the controls feel somewhat clunky and in combat, the camera can be off. It gets too close to my back so I can't see all the enemies surrounding me. It's a solid game so far but compared to Asylum and City, it's a disappointment.

I despise these Joker thugs in the multiplayer having more than three sets of guns. I was down to zero rounds for my battle rifle and had to use what was practically a pea shooter and when the Joker thug I was chasing was out of ammo for his main weapon too, he whips out a couple nail guns.

I'm guessing that they fixed up the multiplayer, Because i got on recently and with it received an update and now i can get into matches. Except now when i search for a quick match it sometimes freezes up the game having me to reset the console

as for the gangs i've mostly been selected for Bane's gang.

Did you not have a UAV during that moment? Regardless, hate when that happens too. The dual nail-guns feel too OP in most cases, even against a player using Bane himself.

Did they fix the thing where if you got the skins packs (whether individually or through the season pass) that not all of them would work online? Because seriously, I want to use the Earth 2 Batman and Earth 2 Dark Knight skins on the multiplayer.

Was browsing the wbgames forums (which you'll automatically have an account on if you make a WBID account on like this game or Injustice) and raised an eyebrow when I saw this post, with someone talking about one of their AO multiplayer experiences.

I just got the game and started playing mulltiplayer. I was one of Joker's thugs and after strting to win my team was able to unlock the Joker. My teammate and i went to the door and pressed X at the same time and we both became the Joker. I'm not sure if it works for Bane but probably. I was really confused at first but it something that i found funny but a bit unfair for the other team.

Two Jokers on the same team as a result of thugs opening the boss door at the same time? I hope WBM got that shit patched already. haermm

I still haven't finished this game because of work hours and other responsibilities.

I have the entire weekend off and I am determined to beat this game today!

I'm at the Royal Hotel now making my way up to the penthouse.
