Superman is outclassed here and punching Hulk or heat visioning him will make him even more powerful. Hulk has fought people like Superman and won And superman has fought people like Hulk and won. Lets not bring up low showings here but what Superman like character defeated the Hulk? What Herald? Not saying that it didn't happen but I'm wondering who you are talking about.
Hulk has defeated Hyperion, Gladiator, ran through Genis, destroyed Captain Marvell, defeated an all out Sentry that was stated on panel as using his power of a million exploding suns. Black Bolt has defeated him with his voice in the past. I'm trying to figure out what other Herald has defeated him. He ran through jack of hearts. Aaaahhhhh, surfer did defeat him by draining him of his gamma radiation. Superman wins 10/10 due to gamma draining.

I don't think freeze breath will stop him all by its lonesome, but it will be a factor. There are too many variables that FB can factor in.
It can slow Hulk down via means of obstacles or simply changing the battleground. And Superman also has Super Breath. If Hulk gets too close, a puff of air would be like a hurricane suddenly falling on Hulk. Clark is extremely intelligent and isn't foreign to using science and physics to take down an opponent.
Also, I'm still wanting to see Hulk recover from a concentrated head blow like the one he delivered to Wolverine in WWH that messed up Logan's healing factor.

I was mainly talking about Thor, but how about Aquarius?
And I've read my share of Hulk and do have lots of books (and merchandise period) with him in it, although I must admit when it comes to Hulk I tend to wait for the graphic novels and don't keep up with the latest trade paper backs.
