I take the orange pill to mean that you can instantly have absolute understanding of anything a human being is capable of learning.

Ye of little vision. You master everything humanly possible. Is it humanly possible to know every future event before it occurs? Nope. With precog I can see the outcome of any event with 100% accuracy. No real world human can do that by simply mastering probabilities and mathematics. There are variables outside of an individual's control. Precog eliminates the threat of those variables because you know with 100% certainty how things will transpire.
I see no reason for being Neil Degrasse Tyson, Lawrance Krause, or Stephen Hawking when I can simply fund their work from the comfort of my personal island while I'm busy smashing King magazine models and Brazilian women.
I didn't disagree that your choice makes it EASIER to get rich, and do so faster, I'm just saying that the orange pill also allows you to amass wealth... AND allows you to become a genius.

I'd certainly know what to do with my wealth. Particularly since I'd be able to see the short term outcome of my actions instantly and adjust when appropriate.

I act to save that child's life, then see the change in future events that child's survival will cause for the next 30 days, and adjust my actions accordingly, seeing the effect my actions will have as well.

i figure you're a pretty smart guy given your profession, but you're not comic book level intelligent; you'd know what to do with your money in terms of spending and investing it wisely, but you'd still be at the mercy of those who actually create things.
