Thor's the man. Not even debatable.. Thor has more character in his pinky, than Sentry has in his entire body.
Yeah, Sentry was powerful, but being powerful doesn't make you the man. Captain America, he's the "definition" of The Man. And Thor's a lot closer to Cap's manliness than Sentry could ever be..

Sure, Sentry is more like Superman with respect to power set. However, Thor's character and story actually lines up with Superman quite well, IMO.
Both are from distant places, yet both feverishly protect Earth's people.
Both are noble.
Superman has Lois. Thor has Jane.
Superman has the nerdy journalist alter-ego. Thor had the nerdy Doctor alter-ego.
Both are gay.
They are both one of the most powerful heroes on their respective planet.
