Who is more powerful, Odin or Mordu?

incidentally, i'm not even sure i really ever said who i thought would win here. i was too busy trying to determine real feats from fan-fic ones. i did learn mordru is powerful--more powerful than i originally thought--but i'm still uncertain his best feats are beyond odin's best feats though. i conceded that mordru could drain odin though for some wins, but i do think odin could take some as well. i get that that take is really impossible for some to understand, but looking through the feats, not sure how one or the other can be said to be well beyond the other.

this thread.... 😂

Mordru just gave power enough to break all rules of magic and restore hundreds of dimensions like nothing. Still you think his only chance is draining?

Has Odin ever done that?

Mordru easily one shots Odin, Zeus and their entire pantheons then goes about his day chilling at this point.

given his most current depiction in jl dark, it's possible i suppose (if we assume scaling based on the current lords of order). based on his earlier showings--no chance of that imo.

Why would scaling be needed here?

in JLA/Avengers, it showed that magic works very differently in DC than it does in Marvel.

mordu.

this should be closed for spite at this point

In the previous issue its said hundreds of dimensions are destroyed.

Why am I thinking Mordu is a Marvel character? A strange villian right? Or is that Mordo?

Baron Mordo, as depicted by Chiwetel Ejiofor in the hit movie Dr Strange (2016).

'Did you mean Mordor? A mythical land as depicted by the British author JRR Tolkien in the hit series 'Lord of the Rings'?

Superman >> Mordru > Odin > Zeus >> Hulk

Above, I have added a couple of extra characters as yardsticks to gauge where these two beings stand. I have only relied upon irrefutable facts from the comics and some generally-accepted tautologies, such as "Hulk is Hulk" and "Superman is Superman", implying that the partial order of superbeings given above is highly objective and accurate.

i agree that it could be close but i still think odin's base power level is a fair ways beyond mordru's base level--which is difficult to determine, admittedly. his ability to absorb power is impressive though so if he were able to absorb odin's power like he did to nabu odin could be in trouble. in that fight though he was working the spell throughout their battle. the other big absorption feats i saw (infinite man and all the teacher/sorcerers) happened when the enemy wasn't ready--the sorcerers even said they didn't have time to defend. when he absorbed nabu, i think that was the battle where they were both weakened in dov as well. correct me if that isnt' the case. looked through so much nabu stuff i may be mixing it up.

bottomline--i said a while back i thought mordru was in the skyfather tier. i still believe that. at base level i think he'd be at the lower end, but with his absorption powers he could go to the top, and even beyond that. /shrug

Never change Leo.

😂 Mordru is so far and above Odin, it isn't funny.

Even before this big push, I'd agree with this statement. Mordru is basically DC's version of Arioch/Strange with the Wings of Needless Sorrow............on steroids.

Who is Arioch?

Classic Shuma Gorath's most powerful servant.

Don't mess with Mordru.

I wonder what beatboks will say to diminish this feat for Mordru.

Abhi, who'd you put above Mordru in magic from marvel IYO

Right now? Probably nobody, maybe this Galactus in Dr Strange arc which has science and magic rules changing but that is due to Galactus being a conduit rather than having straight up power to destroy all rules of magic and that's just universal unlike magic in DC which is multiversal in scope.

Breaking all rules of magic by a random piece of power Mordru gave is an absurd feat considering how powerful magic is right now in DC. Fifty characters can destroy all of reality by this magic FFS.
