Maul's in the next episode:

"Maul makes his return and captures the crew of the Ghost-minus Ezra and Kanan-in order to force the two Jedi to meet him and bring the Sith Holocron; Ezra and Kanan are thus forced to approach the Bendu."

So they're not wasting anytime getting right into it.

May as well get it over with. 🙂

What, Maul ending Vader's reign over the fodder?

Interesting episode, at the end Maul keeps saying "he lives" - thoughts on who 'he' could possibly be?

Definitely Kenobi.

They're not going to bring in Kenobi or Luke, that's a different story. We also know that Maul's arc will involve Dathomir so...

Perhaps Opress?

Hmm perhaps or maybe his father? ^^

Its either his father or Obi-Wan.

It'd be pretty hilarious if Mauls big plan was to team up with Ben to kick Vaders ass.

It just seems to much fan service to have a Maul/Obi-Wan confrontation, especially since Filoni held back the Vader/Maul duel last season.

Just caught up. The first two episodes were quite enjoyable and I loved that the Y-Wings were given to Dodonna.

The Maul episode was a lot less enjoyable. The merging of holocrons was one of the stupidest plot points ever.

As for who Maul is talking about, it's likely Obi-Wan. After all, Ezra saw Tatooine while searching for the key to destroying the Sith. It would make sense for both the Ghost Crew and Maul to be drawn there for the inevitable conclusion involving Kenobi.

Looks like Ben gets to shit on Maul

Maul is still the better old man.

How can you even merge two holocrons?

Don't know why people are assuming it's Obi-Wan, first it's way to much fan service for Filoni's taste. Secondly we know that Maul's arc in Season 3 is directly tied to this and it will feature Dathomir and if apparently Maul still has revenge feelings towards Obi-Wan, his entire plot in TCW would be useless (killing of Satine). They've made it quite clear that the OT movies are a different story then they are telling in Rebels.

Lawl it's not unlike Filoni to bring Talzin back, then Talzin revives Savage and Ventress as zombies and ruins Star Wars.

Agreed he could but unless she has undergone surgery to change her gender, I doubt she's alive.

I agree.

Maul said he has "hope" while Ezra wanted to end the Sith, I think it may be Savage he was talking about. Why would Maul hope Kenobi is alive? Wouldn't he hope his brother is alive?

Although it's most likely Kenobi he was talking about.

I don't really see the connection between 'hope' and Obi-Wan to be honest.

If it's Savage then I honestly would never watch Rebels again.

Maul is one ****ed up individual. His chance to get final and complete revenge may indeed be all the hope he needs.

But there is a more likely explanation that he saw Obi-Wan watching over (a new) hope.

It's not fan service, it's finishing up a story thread satisfactory. Sure, Maul may have gotten some form of revenge (though I doubt it was enough for his taste) but Obi-Wan never got any resolution to the plot. It ends with Obi-Wan fleeing and having virtually no role in defeating Maul. Having Obi-Wan playing a major role in Maul defeat would be a satisfying conclusion to that entire plot line. Furthermore, it would tie he dual roles in the two trilogies together.
