Oh no....though I agree with Ares in pulling back some of the ridiculous, but the fact is, the Rebels are gonna pull through regardless anyway and most likely make that guy out to look like a fool. Speculation sure but with the way things that are going for the Empire lately, I really wouldn't be surprised.
Ares I wouldn't really care much either, except for the fact that he is a fan favorite character and he's coming off to his fans as being a brilliant strategist in naval tactics, doing it to him would just make everything even worse just to show the Rebels crew they can do...well pretty much anything at this point tbh.
But of course, we will see what happens, who knows..maybe the writers will pull out a few surprises.

Now that the trailer for this season has dropped, anything that doesn't feature a Sith Temple, Vader vs. Ahsoka, or Maul will be considered 'sub-standard' by some.I agree that the hate for this episode is rather unwarranted. People are just being nitpicky bandwagoners at this point, imo. When the aforementioned happenings start popping up this season, those same people will start talking about how awesome Rebels has been. Mark my words. 👆
My reason for not rating this episode (hate is a strong word lmao I give it 6/10) is because the 20 minute time slot failed to do justice to its narrative potential. The Mandalorian antagonist was introduced as a fairly flat and uninteresting character with next to no exposition (and seeming no skills either) - hardly comparing in depth to say Pre Viszla. The setting bar the pretty view from orbit was barren, bland and gave us little insight into current Mandalorian culture, character development was next to non-existent bar reaffirming what we already know (Kanan is Jedi, Sabine is a Mandalorian) and finally the plot, though a well crafted concept, fizzled out with the credits before it could really get interesting and really go anywhere.
I'm explaining my reasons I'm depth because you've got the wrong (and rather silly) impression that I'm a gratuitous Rebels hater, as opposed to an honest critic. Will I "change my tune" come the Sith Temple arc? Probably, considering it will likely be a three parter with a developed story, setting, sustained character growth and compelling antagonists i.e. because it will probably be good.
Will that make this filler episode any better in my eyes as it stands now? Of course not.

My post was not directed at anyone in particular... Just the perpetual naysayers who only like to hop on Rebels' bone when it suits them.
If that isn't you, then great. 👆

Episode was very mixed and one of the weakest yet.
I like that it showed how the force works through everyone and not just the Jedi and the Sith. It's always enjoyable seeing new force traditions. The Maw (or whatever it was) was beautiful. And the music was surprisingly strong as well.
But the whole ritual was very hokey. And Zeb turning his staff into a magic staff that could find and guide them to the Lasat homeworld world was very contrived.
