With the Force at his disposal, Vader would utterly wreck-stomp in an equal scene as well, the ships not really firing down on him and having some people running around keeping some of the Klingon's busy.

Khan's weapons appear marginally faster than what we see in Star Wars. The cannon apparently does have two settings, blast-bolts which he used to take out the Klingons and a concentrated beam he mainly used on the ships.

Looking forward to a Bluray copy, should be available from a month to a few weeks before the Bluray is released in the stores(I'll let you know). Do want to watch it again at home.

That doesn't prove anything. This is 2013, the effects of today are obviously better. Are prequel light sabers more powerful than the original trilogy's? What about the same scene portrayed in two movies years apart (the future war scene in Terminator then Again in terminator 2. The shots fired were from the same guns, story wise, but the effects were better when it was recreated for the reinactment so the guns shot faster and smoother.
