Curryman's Meta-Amalgam Tourney!

i assume all the drafts are via pm but curry man can pm you pack to inform you it's above the cap cause he will be available at that time obviously. after all 3 per competitor are chosen there is usually a thread where all the amalgams are shown, maybe then the rest of us get to weigh in if curry messed up but other than that the picks are final in order to stop counter picking.

Counterpicking is an issue, but I need to have a thread up to keep people from picking the same heroes and such. "counter-picking" is possible, but this isn't exactly Dota. There's still 2 remaining parts of the amalgam and countering one body pick with another one is tricky, especially when most people already have a strat through out.

I assume this means and level of invulnerability needs to have a weakness??
I mean I can't think of too many that don't.

Can we choose a body that is impervious if there are other ways to take it down for example??

cool, so will it be a first in, first pick deal then? i don't think you need to worry about counter-picking at all, tbh. it's never been an issue in any tourney i can recall. i mean it's not like you can counter everyone so....who cares? but you never said whether you planned on having all 3 drafts the same day or if you were going to wait. imo, a deadline should be set. anyone who doesn't get in before the deadline they pick last in the other categories. you should DEFINITELY set a deadline for a complete amalgam so matches can be planned. you always never said when you were anticipating getting this thing started.

on other sites that I play tourneys on when we do a draft we have a set order for drafting that reverses each draft choice ( to balance out fairness) so say your drafting a team of 4 and have 16 players he first one to join gets first pick and so on once player 16 picks his first pick he also picks his second and it goes backward. now in an case like this where there's only 3 things to draft the third could go from the middle alternately up and down.

there are a few advantages of doing it this way.
1. pretty fair to all
2. flows well since generally players joined in the order their time zone has them on so the draft process is quicker ( sometimes doesn't feel that way to some markets when it's leak time there and not where it's up to but it works out that way)

i still say: pm picks, picks only count 10am and beyond; curryman can do initial rulings on characters not on the tier list; thread is made once all data is collected where the competitors can see the list of picked bodies, there they can have a last crack at deciding legality; then we move on to the next round whenever that is, possibly the same day (?)

Picks will be handled via PM. Contestant will send their Body pick to me by PM. Draft starts at 2 pm. GMT + 0

I was gonna post the picks as they come, but it might be better if I wait until everybody's made their first pick.

Are you going to be revealing who made what pick?

IMO, you should do what Gundam said, but don't specify who picked what. That way no one can attack a character based on who drafted them and simply on that characters legality.

Yeah, we need to be able to debate characters, but I see no issue with it being blind as to who picked them. Alternatively, if I knew who picked them, it wouldn't really change how I approach it, so meh.

I can't figure out if it's 8am or 9am my time. Curry, you'll likely hear from me at both intervals. Feel free to ignore the first if it's an hour early.

You PM the picks to me.

Once the first body pick has been PM'd to me, I open the thread and post that pick as anonymous. Simply;

"Draft #1 Body: name of character"

and then continue until we're done.

Based on when my cpu says curry posted that last post, and doing the math, I'm getting 7am instead of the previously-assumed 8 or 9.
