Curryman's Meta-Amalgam Tourney!

You will know about the location ahead of time. You write up a full post (up to 10,000 characters - your first one is free, if you go beyond that into a second post you start eating up your post limit) about how your amalgam fits together, what they do in prep (which will be located at the base of your mind character), and then your version of events in how you either defend or attack your opponent.

You can provide scans to support your version of events that are either beneficial towards your amalgam (feats, etc) or detrimental to your opponent (ie: "this has already happened to Captain Britain and he wasn't able to defend against something like this - and none of his other two characters can do anything against it either."😉. Send that in to the person opening up the match and they will post it for you.

Once the write ups are in, you then use your posts to solidify why your version of events is more likely to take place and try to shred their version to pieces by discrediting their theories. Keep it (mostly) clean, and have fun.

For me tourny's and scenario threads are more about a chance to tell a story about a character ( or make new readers have an appreciation of a character) who hasn't been in print for a while. I make them better stories and do the characters more justice when their is a good contest. So I'm just making sure I get everyone's A game, so I show the picks I made in as good a light as possible..

hrm, a fair question. not sure tbh. maybe just forum-speak? i've def heard and read it mentioned a few times but now i don't know if he really is or not....

In case anyone missed it:

Curry wants us all to submit a song and name for our amalgam, and any other miscellany your heart feels compelled to conjure up. Also probably a list of your drafts, just so there's no mistakes.

I dont recall him ever being mentioned as a confirmed Omega. Well not that classifications matter. One can make a case for Joshua Foley or Jean Grey as legit High Metas. So his label isn't the problem.

The bigger concern would be, theres no real define limits to its retroactive evolution. And at one point, evolved to the point of taking Hela place becoming the lord of Hel. For that we ranked him Low Herald on the tier list.

I object to Darwin too.

There are some adapters in lower tiers. I don't see anything wrong with powerset in itself, it is just that Darwin's is either doesn't have upper limit or it is something like WWH.

If I ever enter a low herald tourney (see also: never), I'm drafting Apocalypse and Death Metal just so I can name my team Metalocalypse and have all of the hardest metal be my anthem.

As it is, I got nothing. As amused as I am that this is the first tourney ever where names/songs are required, and as much as I've gotten into this kind of thing in the past (hell, I did an audio post complete with a stadium anthem introduction of my team), yet I have never cared less about it than I do right now.

I'll send something later tonight. Expect it to be amazing. 😐

Attracting dedicated haters is pretty par for the course as a mod, and actually one of the fun perks once you're used to it, but it's been a long time since I've been active enough to garner the attention for it. Thanks for making me feel special again guys.
