Oh, dear. Great news if true.

The same thing was said about Michael Keaton as Batman, Bale as Batman, Heath as Joker, and Ann Hathaway as Catwoman, yet all of those were good to great. Just wait and see before you judge. The trailer isn't even out yet.For all the baggage Affleck has, he is a solid actor. Certainly better than a Cavill or Hemsworth, or Ryan Reynolds.
And the same thing was said about Clooney and we see how that worked out...
Not to mention people are just voicing their opinion, that happens to be extremely negative, but that's what it is.
I'm extremely disappointed, especially when they could've had someone like Scott Adkins.

Clooney wasn't really the problem. Like a lot of bad movies, it's mainly the horrible script. In THIS case, that won't be a problem (shouldn't be), because Ben will have a big hand in how the script/story turns out.
Snyder approached Affleck months ago, reports THR. Affleck would not take on this role unless he had some say in how this script turns out. He will have a strong hand at Warner Bros., which backed him on "The Town" and the Oscar-winning "Argo" and is invested in telling the town he's sticking around the studio. Affleck signed for multiple pictures. If this works out he'll have a major franchise to play with for years ahead. And a major studio where he can hang his hat, as his hero Clint Eastwood has done for decades.

Clooney didn't "get" the Batman character, but it was still more the script than the actual actors. If they'd been given something other than an extended ad for some toys, it would have been much better.

damn straight.. im just giving my opinion on the very bad and horrible casting choice.. If people could read I never ever said I wasn't going to see it..
this is definitely as bad as Clooney who never should have been casted either..
as for me spending $13 dollars, then would turn out tobe more since this will be in 3 D and on IMAX
He didn't say he's a bad actor, he said he's a bad casting choice.
That said he's not as good an actor as Bale, and definitely fits the role less. So even if Affleck surprises us (and I hope he does) it's still going in the wrong direction for DC' s most profitable big screen character.
Although with Affleck being a fan and a great director, having him on board might be taking the DC Movie Verse in the right direction.

I think it's the right direction. WB needs someone who has a passion for this material and a world class director like Nolan. Affleck fits that bill.

Thanks for viewing that. They went over most of the pros and cons of the casting choice. Not going to sit here and say it's going to be a slam dunk, but I'm not going to yell and scream before the trailer even hits the internet.

Of course I viewed it. Found it really interesting.I'm not a hater. I just really want this film to succeed and I really don't want Batman ruined on the big screen after all the work Nolan put in to make him the biggest solo superhero on the big screen.
👆 You're probably the only one who did. 😛
In the long run, I think it's a smart move by WB. Time will tell, though.
