The problem is that WB/DC has no faith in anyone but Superman and Batman.
Its kinda predictable what they are going to do. They will see what kind of reaction the general audience has with the secondary characters in dawn of justice movie, and the following justice league movie, if well received then THEN they might do solo films.

Disagree.

They had to start somewhere, so why not start with their biggest properties? Lesser known characters come after.

Gal Gadot is the best Wonder Woman ever. Too bad they messed up on Lois.

I know I've complained about this before, but I can't help it.

You see a few pictures of her after a few months of her training regimen (with no significant gains) and you declare her to be the best Wonder Woman ever? We haven't even seen her in the suit, yet!

Skinny is the new strong. America needs to get into shape, besides what stops her from putting on 5-10 lbs?

😘 No. Skinny is the annoyingly safe fad to keep women in an endless cycle of insecurity. Also, what's stopping her from gaining muscle is the fact that she still looks skinny after she's had months to gain weight. Sure, she's not as bony as she used to be, but she's still visually inadequate for Wonder Woman. She doesn't even have as much mass as Emily Blunt.

The idea here is that an American actress IMO would come off cheesy in a part that should clearly go to someone of Mediterranean descent. Again an Israeli isn't Greek, but the ethnicity is close enough to fool the eye into believing that she is a Greek demi-god.

The idea is supposed to be to cast someone that looks as close to the character as possible with proven acting talent, regardless of their nationality. I don't care that Gal is Israeli, she just doesn't resemble Wonder Woman and has never displayed the acting for her.

Yes many of them have the acting ability, but this is not enough to convince many people that the talent scouts made the right decision.

Having the acting ability should automatically be convincing as it's the only way to be convincing!

We do not know if she will, or will not nail this part on the head, but one thing is certain... She looks, and sounds like Wonder Woman should sound.

It's true we don't know if she will nail the part. I STRONGLY DISAGREE with your opinion of her looking like Wonder Woman, though. She's not even close. Katy Perry and Emily Blunt are the closest looking to Wonder Woman as you will get.

Megan Fox was a big no no.

Nobody was calling for Megan Fox, anyway. Some were calling for Jamie Alexander (too skiny), Gemma Arterton, or Angelina Jolie back in the day. In my opinion, I think Adrienne Palicki should've received a second chance.

The perfect Darkseid! Too bad he's no longer with us. RIP.

Katy Perry or Emily Blunt better? No thank you.

I'd have been all right with Blunt, tbh.

Blunt is better as a Catwoman, IMO.

If the rumours are true, I won't mind that she's Catwoman. She wouldn't have been my first choice, but I think she looks more like Selina than Hathaway does.

Would definitely prefer Blunt.

Blunt doesn't scream WW to me. At least Gal has that exotic look to her. Same with Katy. Don't get me wrong, I PREFER Katy's body to Gal, but not the face.

Linda Carter wasn't exactly exotic, and she was well-received.

Then there's the comics, where she's basically a white woman.

Sure, by her origin she should be more Mediterranean looking, but they rarely cared about that before.

I don't think Katy Perry looks exotic at all, though.

If Lynda Carter was cast today, people would probably complain all day long.

Funny thing is both Gal and Carter are the same height. Carter has a better lower body, but a pretty skinny frame with the upper body.

Carter>Katy Perry, though. In her prime of course.

Why? Diana is often drawn as being a white woman with black hair. She doesn't even look European a lot of the time.

I haven't seen Carter in anything bar Two and a Half Men lately, but she looked fine in that. Certainly bigger than Gadot looked. Unless I'm remembering wrong.

She is bigger, but only the bottom frame. Carter is more voluptuous than anything. That's what she is known for. Seems people today want someone more strong looking than voluptuous. Plus, she isn't a great actress or anything.

How do you define voluptuous? because that is not what I would call Gadot.

She might not be an Oscar winner, but she still has a solid body work behind her, which does include Wonder Woman.

I didn't say Gal was voluptuous. I meant Carter.

And I never found Lynda to be a good actress. Just my opinion. I like her, though. If ya know what i mean. 😛

Oh, okay.

😂

I dunno; I hope that costume reveal is true. Then we can finally see how she looks, and the argument can be put to bed.

His reasoning is pretty weak tbh.

Agents of Shield hasn't been the best show, but that's nothing to do with it crossing over with the movies. In fact AOS got a heck of a lot better when it adopted the Movie verse plot from Captain America 2.

Also crossing the movie and tv series over got AOS picked up by a bigger network, which is why it still gets a lot more viewers than Arrow, despite Arrow clearly being the better show.

So there would be commercial and logical reasons to cross them over (not that I'm saying they definitely should). But I personally just don't like the idea of a different Flash in a tv series whilst the JL is starting on the big screen. Especially if the show ends up being great quality and a big success.

Edit- Also seriously, give the writers some credit. They're not going to be all stuck following the continuity of 1 DC film a year. By that argument you shouldn't even cross Arrow over with the Flash, because of the "creative limitations" of making both shows meld with each other.
Besides if they really wanted to do it, they could always say the Arrow and Flash series take place like 5 years before the JL movies which would solve 90% of those problems anyway.

It's DC/WB were talking about. What marvel did with AOS and the movies took SERIOUS planning from the jump, one of DC/WB's major flaws.
