Well it was surprising they came out with that excuse for Green Lantern when it came out just 2 months after the box office success of Thor. And Thor was more successful than their last Superman movie even.
It was just a retarded though in the first place. Anyone with half a brain knows that GL flopped because it was just a really bad written and directed movie. You can't write off the character (and all DC characters) until they actually make well written and well directed movies featuring them which still end up flopping.

So do I. I don't see what's so difficult in making a Flash movie and a Wonder Woman movie first. I mean B v S isn't even out for another 2 years, so it's not like they don't have time. They could easily do those 2 solo movies first and still keep to their Justice League schedule.

That excuse from WB worked, because it was before The Avengers and Marvel still had to prove a cinematic universe worked.
The Incredible Hulk financially flopped, Iron Man 2 was a letdown compared to Iron Man, Thor was mostly decent, and Captain America: The First Avenger was more decent. Iron Man was the only film out the pre-Avengers Phase 1 films that could stand next to the Dark Knight in terms of quality. Add in that The Dark Knight made more than all Marvel Phase 1 films except The Avengers and you can understand WB being comfortable with only Batman and Superman.
Now, Iron Man 3 grossed over a billion, Thor: The Dark World grossed over $600 million, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is over $700 million, and Guardians of the Galaxy will have a strong brand name behind it to make sure it has a solid world wide gross. Combine this with Avengers: Age of Ultron sure to make over a billion with Ant-Man getting the brand boost and WB can't compete with only Batman and Superman.

So apparently Fox put in an $80Billion bid for Time Warner. Looks like Fox is eager for a Wolverine V Batman movie.
The bid however was rejected. Still though it's interesting.

The larger monopoly issue would be Fox owning Fox news and CNN if the acquisition happened. But the article says part off the deal would be for Fox to then sell off CNN.
Rupert Murdoch's massively increased media influence would be the main issue for me. But as for this thread/board I'm betting Fox would sort out DC movies.
