Spacemonkey said Hardy was mediocre, which MOST people disagree with. Most people I know who aren't comic fans actually like his roll in the TDKR and is one of the best things in the movie, even though it's different than the books. Easily better than the Mandarin for IM 3. AND A LOT better than this crap. 😛
OK, you seem fairly intelligent, so I hope you DO realize your hypocrisy. I'm sure you agree with me that Ledger was great in TDK. So you said the fact I wasn't as high on Hardy as you were makes ALL my opinions suck, right (your quote: "taste sucks as usual", as if you've known me for years, but I digress)? That makes my opinion on Ledger suck, as well, according to you.
It's not that the truth hurts (The truth DOES hurt, believe me, just not in this instance). It's just that trying to discuss opinions with fanatics on this topic is the same as trying to discuss science with a religious zealot. Regardless of what is stated, an opinion will be shot down without realizing that an opinion cannot be wrong because it's MY opinion. I disagree on most of your opinions, but I would never insult your taste. Let's just chalk it up to a difference in maturity and class. THAT is why I choose to exit this thread, not a childish insult. For the most part the people on this forum are great to have intelligent discussions with, there's just always an exception, unfortunately. I truly, TRULY, hope you enjoy the DC movies that you defend so vehemently. Actually, I hope I enjoy them, as well. It's truly a good time to be a comic book movie fan, as long as people realize that's all this is... entertainment. Once again, peeps... PEACE.

but that always happens when comic book movies are made
Not to the extent it happened with Bane, though.

to be fair, non comic readers aren't going to have the same insight in to the character that comic readers do.

I'm actually not a big fan of Ledger's Joker, which I know puts me in the minority. He performed well, no doubt, but it's really not the Joker I wanted to see on screen.
Hell, most of Nolan's trilogy, as well made as it was, wasn't the Batman I wanted to see on screen.

Man, you can't take a joke, can you? Everyone has their own opinions, I get that. If you think Hardy was just ok, then whatever. TDKR is the second highest rated super hero movie behind TDK and Avengers (on some sites), so most people who dig TDKR aren't even DC fans.

True enough. I'm actually a big fan of Bane in the books, but Nolan's vision was ideal for his Batmanverse.
Do you have high hopes for Afflek's Batman? I know Nolan generally sucks with action, so I have high hopes for Snyder, because he pretty much excels in action scenes.

Snyder is the reason I had hopes for Man of Steel, and he didn't disappoint.
I think Affleck is capable. I'm just withholding judgement until I see him in the suit.

theyre how superman would, and does, fight.
yeah in the comics. But i think thats why the MCU is doing well. They tend to tone down the Uber powerful heroes to make the film somewhat more believable and not seem to much like a cartoon.
The general audience knows they are watching a fantasy/scifi super hero flick, but i dont think they would relate to hulk punching planets in half, or an unbeatable god like superman that is capable of anything. Thats why i think the nolan trilogy was great ( worked for the movie world). They tried to have that approach with MOS, having him be Emo, and pushed for an emotional 1st half so you can feel for supes, then they have this epic cartoonish dragonballZ fight.
Not everything in the comics translates well for the movies.

The Superman in MOS wasn't nearly that powerful, though. Hulk was like a cartoon in Avengers, IMO. It worked, though.
