Speaking of GL, how would you guys feel about this?
He'd be a solid choice.
Just surprised they aren't going with John Stewart.

He was relatively unknown to the general public and his movie career was in the shit stall. RDJ's talent was known to the very few who'd seen his work, and most of his popularity came from legal trouble and the Betty Ford clinic. If you think that's established star power you're fvcking insane
Disagree. While he wasn't as well known for his movies in the years leading up to Iron Man, he was always in the news for his criminal issues.
He was pretty well-known to anyone old enough to remember his movies. And that is a LOT of people.

Most definitely. I'm an 80's child and I remember a lot of people talking about Robert Downey Jr. Friends, family, whatever. He is more well known right before Iron Man than Chris Pine is now.
Originally posted by Firefly218I don't have the same problem with marvel because I trust that they search for the best talent. DC I don't trust yet. They seem to just go for big names, like Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne in MoS.
Oh I totally agree that Marvel has earned our trust whilst DC hasn't yet. But I honestly don't think DC are going for big names for their superheroes.
I mean just look at their proposed Justice League. Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot are hardly household names or fanboy dream castings.
MOS was also Caville's breakthrough role. Yes Hollywood had been keeping an eye on him for a while first, but it was the same for Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans tbh.

Don't forget WB hired a STAGE actor to play Cyborg. I guess all of you think that's lazy hiring as well. Lmao.
Let's also remember that WB made Christian Bale a house hold name with the Batman trilogy. I swear, wb/dc get no credit.

^ Ah yes completely forgot about the guy playing Cyborg. Agree about Bale as well.Honestly it's only Suicide Squad that WB/DC is intentionally going for big big names. Marvel's had many famous supporting actors selling their movies as well.
Yeah, like Edward Norton. But TBH, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Joel K aren't THAT big of names. Most people know Margot Robbie from Wolf of Wallstreet, but that's it.

No I meant even when the lead wasn't famous they've usually had big names supporting them- Anthony Hopkins, Renne Russo, Natalie Portman, Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johanson. So they've clearly had no shortage of big names.

True, but I think the difference there is they tried going for the Biggest names first. They landed Will Smith and also went for Tom Hardy. When Hardy fell through they went for Jake Gyllenhaal which also fell through.
They even flat out said they wanted A Listers for that movie, which is fine. Because it's a movie based on Villains, and it's an unknown property. I was actually all for the Biggest names for that movie. Because in that scenario it would be cool and made sense.

It's not so much that WB wanted Jake (I'm sure they did, too), it's that David Ayer requested Jake Gyllenhaal, because he already worked with him in End of Watch and had a good relationship with him already.
Black Adam might be in Justice League, says The Rock.

Actually no, I originally believed from the start that he was playing Adam. I said so in this thread.
I was just told by other people that he'd most likely be Shazam. Which makes a certain kind of sense, seeing as they'd need someone just as famous to play Shazam so it doesn't get weird.
