Pretty cool imo, the Black Zero Event was massive, an actual world end scenario with actual consequences in the world, is not gonna be so whitewhased and tame like the ''Battle of New York'' at least, god that invasion was so pathetic, is funny seeing Coulson name dropping it in all Agents of Shield like this huge thing, but hey let's just celebrate with shawarma.

Yes lets have a depressing grim fight scene that makes you feel like shit and want to go home and slit your wrists.

no thanks.

That doesn't sound depressing at all. It's actually kind of uplifting. Jimmy being personally affected by the Black Zero Event but moving past it and holding no ill will towards Superman could serve as a nice counterpoint to others in the movie who will probably be at Superman's throat. Namely Luthor and Bats.

I think it can play out fine. It gives depth to their friendship.

i can think of a certain poster or 2 that get wet over big explosions and muscular men punching and lifting heavy objects. Makes sense to cater to the lowest common denominator once in a while.
While those things are cool, I like that too, its not the end all of what makes a movie good or great like certain people seem to think.

How does him losing his legs give depth to their friendship?

shocklaugh

If they make Superman into an angry, giant A-hole in the DC-movieverse (and keep him like that for future movies), this movie would be my most anticipated movie ever

Because it can bring more elements to it other than "YAY Superman is my buddy because comics" For example Clark could be a mopey Superman who feels guilty over what happened to Jimmy and everyone else, and Jimmy can be grateful to him for being alive and show his gratitude even in his circumstances. This could in turn reflect on Superman big time, and would be an interesting dynamic to form a friendship. Think of Lois's conversation with Clark in Pa Kent's grave.

I always found the Jimmy Olsen friendship to be stupid. I don't hate the character or anything, but I always wondered wtf Jimmy had that made him...you know, Superman's best friend.

Everything you just described could have easily been the same if he didn't lose his legs.

Because Superman will use his restore-legs-vision in this.

Exactly, I mean he repaired the Great Wall of China, this should be easy.

Re: Superman vs. Batman is probably more depressing and dark than you think.

Fine by me, I'm all in For dark and depressing. We have Marvel for comedy

Has potential. I like seeing the repercussions for Superman's actions rather than just have it ignored.

I'd pay good money to see that.

"That... I don't even... well, it's definitely a ballsy move. I don't think it's a smart move, but it is ballsy. I'm guessing that Snyder has vastly overestimated how much mass audiences want to be visually reminded of the grim, horrible, and authentic physical costs of battle during a PG-13 movie about men in tights with superpowers, but I've been wrong before." -end snip

Snyder is made of pure ballsy balls. But really, the people who liked MoS liked it in part because of the destruction scenes. It makes sense that when beings of this power fight; shit gets wrecked. The majority of the damage was done by the World Engine too, not Superman's brawls.

I can't see people crying "I didn't like being reminded of the action and destruction in MoS". Seems like a very stupid point to mention and/or worry over.

I think it's a great decision that will give the series continuity. I won't be reminded of anything grim. I'll just be reminded that actions have consequences. I hoe it gets darker before it gets lighter. That is what always makes for the best stories in the comics that I've read.

Supergirl and Wonder Woman theory:

Yes, it has been confirmed that Kara Zor-El or popularly known as Supergirl is in the Man of Steel universe as confirmed by the Man of Steel prequel tie-in comic book. But the big question is, will Supergirl appear in the Man of Steel 2 or as it's popularly called "Batman vs Superman"? Read on and you'll see why a "Batman vs Superman" Supergirl reference or appearance is possible!

For everyone who has read the Man of Steel prequel tie-in comic knows that the ship Clark Kent found in ice belongs to Supergirl aka Kara Zor-El. Kara Zor-El is the daughter of Zor-El, the brother of Jor-El.

At the end of the prequel comic, Kara Zor-El ended up on Earth more than a thousand years before the events of Man of Steel happened. Now when Clark Kent went to ship you can see that one of the pods have been opened. This is presumably, Kara Zor-El's pod.

Where could she have gone? This is where the "Batman vs Superman" Supergirl theory comes in.

After waking up from the pod, Kara Zor-El explores the Earth and finds it without highly evolved creatures (humans haven't evolved yet) so she finds an isolated area she's comfortable and uses the birthing matrix or whatever the Kryptonians use to make children to populate the isolated area. This area would then become "Themyscira" the birthplace of Wonder Woman and the rest of the Amazonians. Of course since Kara Zor-El would be the first one there, she will be dubbed the ancestor of the Amazonians.

Now this will be very interesting as Kryptonians age slower than a human. Jor-El was alive when Kara Zor-El was sent away from Krypton and Jor-El died just decades before Man of Steel happened and Kara Zor-El's ship crashed thousands of year prior so it can be assumed that she is still alive after thousands of years. Link

I love the idea for Super girl. Wonder Woman,...,, That's a tough sell 🙁

I guess so kind of Kryptonian/human hybrid COULD work to explain the Amazons. I'm not really feeling it tho. Maybe if they added magic too.....

I want to see THIS in a future movie.

Yeah they would need to add magic and the I guess it could work.

After all in the MCU Thor, Odin and the Asgardians have basically been said to be Aliens and not literal gods.

So could work if Wonder Woman is the only new hero being introduced in this. But since they're also introducing Aquaman and Cyborg, and who knows who else, I really don't see the point in making Wonder Woman's origin more relateable to Superman's world.

Wonder Woman needs her own movie before bats v Supes. It would make her origin less random and more believable.

If not, WW should remain a mystery in the movie. Her origin shouldn't be explained, referenced or shown AT ALL. Just introduce her character, then the solo can go deep into her origin.
