Why? Allude to her being a demigod or something is more than enough.

No it isn't .... just coz some line about being some demigod wouldn't even make sense UNTIL THEY SHOW US HOW EXACTLY AND WHY SHE IS A DEMIGOD

The word "demigod" tells us how and why she is a demigod...

Umm... No. The mythos for the concept of a demigod hasn't been established yet in the DC universe. Superman is an alien, and his powers are explained by science/biology.

They could take the role of "This is just a world full of super powered heroes/vigilantes" as the plot, kind of like Watchmen.

But that would really be missing the point of something like Justice League.

JL and Avengers are not supposed to just be some random superhero teams. They are supposed to be an Ensemble of Popular Solo franchises. Which Triples the excitement.

So X-Men or GOTG is not an appropriate example Imo. A better example would be the proposed Fantastic Four/X-Men team up. And there's no way they would do that before making separate X-Men films and separate FF films.

Inhuman was spot on when he said making JL just another team movie can work but it's the lazy way out. And it's doing the whole concept of these Crossover Events an Injustice by turning them into just another team movie.

Fair enough

What? The "concept of the demigod" is the same in the DC universe as it is in the myths. The only thing they may need to explain is the existence of gods. But I think they could hold off on that until the WW film where their existence will have an actual bearing on the plot.

Yeah because DC totally has a legitimate, solid, plan for making one of those happen in less than 4 years 😐

Glad you're not writing it.

The only reason they might get away with using Wonder Woman prior to her solo movie is because Wonder Woman is a really famous name which people remember from the old Lynda Carter series.

Even still they will need to spend a good 5/10 minutes delving into where she comes from and why she's come to Metropolis/Gotham now in B v S.

They can't just say to the audience "She's a Demi-God, now shut up. If you wanna know more then don't complain just go watch the the old Lynda Carter series or go watch the animated movie or go pick up a comic, or go pick up our Dawn of Justice Fact File from the newsagent.. And if you're too lazy to do any of that then just Shut the f*** up"

Diana's not even a a real myth. Thor is an actual Norse myth whose shown up in different media like Hercules The Legendary Journeys, Hammer of the Gods, and even in Marvel live action media with The Return of the Incredible Hulk.

Still Marvel explained This Version of what Thor is again in the opening few minutes of MCU's Thor. And then even devoted a few minutes explaining who him and Loki are and how they're effecting the plot in The Avengers! So there's just no way Marvel would be stupid enough to introduce such an important hero of the Marvel Universe by saying, "Yeah he's the Norse god Thor.. Now shut the f*** up and enjoy the film... You can research on him later when you go home you lazy f***s"

And Wonder Woman is arguably a far more important character in the DCU than Thor is to Marvel.

A solo movie explaining who she is Prior to B v S, would have been the best option. But we know we're not getting that. So the next best option (the much lazier way as Inhuman put it) is to spend a good 5-10 minutes explaining her background in B v S. Which they might get away with because WW is such a famous name. But anything less than that and audiences will feel just how Lazy WB are being.

👆 makes sense

Yeah. Diana is a lot more important to DC than Thor is to marvel IMHO.

Warner Bros. Reportedly Has A No Jokes Policy With Batman V. Superman And Other DC Comics Movies

A no jokes pure serious policy will doom the D.C. franchise.....................geeesh I was just starting to get into this new D.C. movie.

As I have said before appealing to one type of fan (the drama queen soap opera real serious type) will cost the franchise money.

Humor is fine D.C. just wrote a bad movie in the green lantern movie. I personally liked ryan Reynolds. D.C. makes bad choices and is to one dimensional I hope they fix this casue I want to see D.C. succeed like most other people.

But why does that mean she require a solo film first. Sure, it would likely work better but audiences don't need to be completely catered to and have everything spelled out for them. Saying Wonder Woman is a demigod will be enough, just as Rocket's explanation in GotG was enough. I certainly, don't want them wasting ten minutes on WW's origin in a BvS film.

I don't think it makes her require a solo film. I'm fine with her being in it, so long as she eventually gets her own film.

It would just sound kinda ridiculous without any proper establishment or development

not official, just an artist's concept of Momoa as Aquaman.

I think it looks fuccing dope.

Little gay marwash.

figured you'd approve.

Jeez man first time Wonder Woman makes her Big Screen appearance and you want her given the Rocket Racoon origin treatment?

She's the most famous superheroine in the world, she deserves better than that.

Besides which Rocket gets away with it because he's an alien, and the whole film takes place in another Galaxy.

When basing a film on Earth saying "Oh yeah she's a Demi-God" is going to sound kind of ridiculous, especially with the more serious tone WB is taking with their DC Properties.

A solo film first would have been the best way, but since they're introducing her this way, they could do it like Watchmen. Doing a Flashback to explain what Dr. Manhanttan is and where he came from.

With someone whose just a high meta like Ozzy though they didn't feel they need to explain him in a world full of superheroes which is fair enough. But with a godlike being like Dr. Manhattan, you don't just put him in randomly without some sort of background/explanation.

Yeah especially seen as she's almost as powerful as Superman. You can't just troll around that saying "Oh she's just someone who had powers Obviously!!!"

NO in her case it HAS TO be explained properly.

If wonder woman is going to be taken seriously she she's going to be powered down. Say to captain America levels.

If shes hearld powerful she will not be accepted as well I believe. People I think adapt to the batman and captain America characters a lot due to the fact that they are more realistic and believable and they really like the hand to hand combat, rather then just eyebeaming someone from a distance or the constant speedblitzing, the movie becomes a blurr at this point =(. Unfortunatly im not sure how all this will work though considering she's basically powered by the greek gods =(
