Well yeah... I'm commenting on their apperance just as whoever Inhuman was quoting was. Also, the comic readers would be showing a distinct lack of knowledge of Aquaman then as he looks very similar to the bearded version.

He's close to the right build, but that is about it.

I'm not saying that he won't do a good job, just that without knowing that he is a DC character, most people's first thought wouldn't be "that's Aquaman" when they see him.

I think this was a good call to help sell Aquaman as a badass. Use the most badass version of his appearance.

he has somewhat similar armour and a beard. there are still a fair few differences.

Sure, it's a resemblance to an extent, but they still could have done better.
