Lois jokingly said the "S" could stand for "Superman" & was about to say it before they were interrupted so the name was never really uttered in MOS.

He's called "Superman" during the scene where all the military folk (Hamilton, Swanwick, etc.) are realizing what the World Engine does. Swanwick's like "whaaaa?" and some guy's like "that's what they're calling him."
