Firstly I didn't say people hate them. I said I don't hear anyone go on about how great IM2 and IM3 were.Box Office is more about hype and excitement than anything else. That hype and excitement has to be built up somehow, and obviously good WOM helps, but box office does not dictate how much people enjoyed the movie.
Because you go to watch the movie before you know how much you enjoyed it. You said yourself MOS sold better on DVD/Blu-Ray than IM3 did. Despite IM3 having double the box office of MOS.
I rarely hear people say anything about any movie, really. The last time I heard people complimenting a movie was MOS, IM 3, Avengers, and TDKR.
I agree that BO isn't the be all end all on judging a movie, which is why I gave multiple examples on MOS. DVD sales, tournaments, and WOM. Everyone I know who hates Superman absolutely loved it. Which is what WB is banking on. They want to appeal to the General Audience and it did.

I wouldn't have had Pa-Kent telling Clark that he should've let a bus full of school kids die and I woulda had him die via heart attack like the original, not some bull shit where Clark LETS him die...makes him look like a douche
Pa said maybe on the bus of kids. And Clark wanted to save his dad, but respected his dad's wishes on being kept a secret. Superman saved a lot of people, though.

Which things would you have changed?
well it has always been clear how darkness works for Batman and going by the BVS trailer that will not nor should it stop... I did like Man of Steel but felt Supes isn;t a dark character... Going forward Supes shouldn't be a dark character and hopefully Diana and Aquaman aren't either.. Other than that unless I think of something else later on is the only thing I'd change...
MoS is garbage wrapped in a bundle of fresh turd. Shallow, heartless, without soul. For such a hugely budgeted film with massive star power attached focused on a pop culture icon, MoS failed miserably.
BvS has me excited by the teaser so if it's a rehash im goin go ****ing ape shit. That'll be really disappointing and saddening. For real though, I'll need a snickers or two.

That's just total bull crap.
It's quite normal in these kind of movies to have big stars in the supporting roles. Thor had Anthony Hopkins, Captain America had Tommy Lee Jones.
And the "Superman is an Icon" excuse is well overrated. Superman Returns failure proved people don't give a crud about "Icons" anymore. They just want a good movie. And MOS succeeded in entertaining most people.
MOS wasn't a failure at all and was in fact a successful reboot.
But haters gonna hate.

Agreed, wonder when $500 million world wide become a failure for a reboot?

I didn't really get the feels for the teaser when I saw the crappy leaked version, but when I saw the officially released version it was awesome. Like I never initially heard Batman's kickass "Do you bleed" line in the leaked teaser.

If there are others like you who enjoyed it, then good for them. And if you're satisfied with BvS being a MoS caliber film then fine. I doubt it's even possible for such profound trash to be replicated anyways.
