Yes I do understand The Golden Bible when it comes to each character...what they can or cannot do, what's cannon & can't be changed.
The point I'm making is that not every comic book writer gets to choose to write stories for their favourite heroes.
Some are simply commissioned & you can tell that there's no passion or vested interest. They simply pick up a pay check for each issue delivered.
Wasn't it Alan Grant who hated the notion of costumed heroes in general?
Marvel gave him carte blanche to write an XMen storyline & what did he do...he tried to kill them all off!

Hated as a character or the way he was portrayed in MOS?
The problem with superman isnt superman. Its his lunatic fans.
People like Ahbi, H1, Philo, and the rest of the the super-fans make people dislike the character.
Their views and opinions on Supes cross the line into a deranged obsession that turns people off to the character.

I kinda don't agree because I'm not exposed to any Superman fanatics not have I ever read any of the above posters' views on him.
From what Superman stories I've read or seen in cartoons, he always works better as a cameo hero than the whole story focusing on him.

My mistake. It was Grant Morrison of Animal Man fame.
He agreed w/Marvel to write a short run on XMen on the condition that whatever he wrote wouldn't be edited prior to publication & Marvel foolishly agreed thinking Morrison =$$$$!!!
Then Morrison went about killing off each XMen...it was hilarious!
The poor writer after Morrison's run had to fall back on the "It was all a dream" cliché scenario to bring the XMen back to life.

Grant Morrison might have killed Genosha, but as far as named ones went, the only "big" characters he killed off were Jean and Magneto iirc. And Magneto is the only one of those they retconned.
Plus, his run on New X-Men is amazing, imo.

Grant Morrison wrote one of the best Cyclops' of all time.
I have read 2000ad, but it's been a long time.

Philo doesn't belong in that bracket.

I liked Hulk as a character ever since I started reading comics. That doesn't changes today because I find most hulk fans on any board annoying.
😬
It's the same as marvel fanboys moaning about how Superman is too powerful while cheering Silver Surfer/Thor/Sentry for being powerful.

About to break the bank. 😂

It's not that all uncommon for huge complex films to go over budget somewhat, eg GoTG went over. As a supposed "movie buff", you should know this. But this is of course your well known hatred of DC coming out again, so meh. Nothing to see here.

If you truly like a character, nobody is able to make you dislike the character. You're just finding an excuse to dislike a character if you're letting battle boards decide who you like or not.I liked Hulk as a character ever since I started reading comics. Good point, though I would say most of us on the battleboards( myself included) are guilty of this at one time or another.

Originally posted by RobtardThat is two films and both avengers cleared a billion easily meaning it's a proven success. This isn't. It's also just one film. How much did many of steel make again ?
