That's why competition is good, and why we're all waiting for WB/DC to get off their asses and give Marvel some damn competition. More competition means less of the IM3's level quality. Because even if the Superhero genre stays high for the next 2 decades, we don't want Marvel getting Lazy because they KNOW they will make money no matter what.

Exactly. And my point isn't that Westerns or Political Thrillers are no longer made; it's that they don't dominate the landscape like they used to. Comic movies are dominating the landscape right now. Unless they stay good and fresh (which is more likely with competition), then there will definitely be decline.

Yes, I understand what he said, which is why I said that people have been predicting the same thing for almost a decade now.

As far as domination, I'd say that action/adventure films, which is what most superhero movies are, have almost always dominated the box office.

True, but generally Superhero flicks are a subset of the action/adventure genre. You probably wouldn't compare Indiana Jones to Thor as being the same, even though they're both action-y and adventure-y.

False. If DC makes nothing but bad movies (not likely), then superhero fatigue will spread faster. Comic movies are at their all time high right now...but no genre lasts forever. Ask the Western, or Political Thriller....

It's not just DC either, if Marvel's movies don't keep being good, then fatigue sets in faster as well.

Agreed.

I think its a pretty good and bad time for a lot of different fans. Love em or hate em look at all the franchises n stuff in last ten years.

Transformers, turtles, dc, marvel, godzilla, star wars comin back, a good jurassic park movie, hopefully some good he-man, voltron, and thundercats coming our way. But I'm an 80's baby to so maybe its just me.

No but then I also wouldn't say Indiana Jones and the Matrix are the same thing. However, Indy is much like the first Captain America film.

so psyched that the main villain is going to be another generic cave-troll 👆

Aren't you guys just glad that next year you wil be spending a ton of dough on what should be great comic book movies...

I know I will be

I am, can't wait. The ones hating will be there opening weekend like everyone else.

I won't be.

I'm hyped as hell! BvS, CW, Dr Strange and Deadpool?? Coolness.

The only comic movie I won't be seeing in theaters is X-Men: Apocalypse.

XM:A will be better than BvS.

They'll both suck looking at the villain portrayals.

You'll be missing out. First Class and Days of Future Past were great. I expect Apocalypse will follow in that trend.

Not to me. I think both films were mediocre.

I saw FC in the theater and was disappointing. DOFP I saw online for free and still think it's overrated.
