That's what happens in the comics with the origin, Clearly you haven't read his books.
We're not discussing comics are we?
We're talking Marvel's franchise on the big screen.
And I'd imagine that origin story was not the very 1st issue of Thor so he was well & truly already established before losing his powers.
I'm just saying... it was a disappointing introduction for a solo film.

No, But we are talking about him losing his powers and walking around being a normal person, Which does happen in the comics
and the first movie for Thor for the MCU was using something recent somewhat comic from J michael straczynski.

That's kinda my point. How many issues have there been already prior to Thor losing his powers?
A lot?
It would've been more ideal to use that storyline as a 2nd or 3rd movie feature.
Not for his first solo introduction.

The reason he became a hero is because of what happened in the first movie. 😬

Made sense in Chris Reeves Superman 2. He loses his powers & plays the fumbling mortal in the sequel. We got to see his full potential in the 1st movie & that established both his hero status & humanity's need & adoration for him.
Then in the sequel, when he lost his powers, we were already invested into his character & was saddened to see him as a mortal & sympathetic to him getting his powers back.
In Thor, we get a brief introduction to an arrogant, selfish God of Thunder.
We don't feel sorry when he loses his power because we're given very little time to get to know him. We spend most of the movie watching a rom-com between him & 2 women & the cliched "fumbling tourist" antics played for laughs.

Thor 1 was a frigging Awesome movie.Him not having powers was a great story. And when he did have his powers he showed some of his best feats to date in that film.
Thor 2 was pretty Meh though Imo. So Ragnorak better kick ass.

So you wanted a whole movie of Thor being selfish and arrogant so you could be more invested when he lost his powers? You aren't supposed to be sad when Thor lost his powers, you are supposed to be happy when he earned them back. I need to teach you how to watch movies.

Rumor has it, Will Smith and Jared Leto will appear in the Batman, directed by Affleck. We could potentially be seeing The Good, The Bad and the Ugly type of scenario with Batman, Deadshot, and the Joker. Sounds pretty sweet.
