It's not about power. It's about being a good story. So far Marvel is going story over comic accuracy. We'll see what DC decides to do.

Eh, I would argue that the characters thus far have been pretty accurate to the comics, at least in terms of getting the spirit of the characters just right.

For the most part they've gotten the SPIRIT right. But they're not even remotely accurate in terms of power levels. And honestly? That's fine. For movies I don't need to see galaxy busting potential out of characters.

Oh, I agree, the power levels, given the way they've structured the universe, are perfectly fine.

DC/WB seems to be willing to push it a bit further, but as long as the movie is good, I won't mind. Powers in and of themselves, high or low, don't make a good movie, and so on.

So far, Superman hasn't done anything too crazy like the comic counterpart. He hasn't lifted an island yet, he hasn't moved the planet, and he hasn't moved faster than the speed of light.

He's destroyed a lot of buildings, but Hulk has done things similar, even with his fight with Iron Man.

The Wonder Woman feat is probably better than any Superman feat in MOS.

That feat belongs to her shield, more than her.

True, so her equipment/gear is pretty uber.

Compare Hulk's fight with Iron Man in AOU to the climactic fight in MOS; I'd argue that, even accounting for WB/DC's willingness to straight kill bystanders, there's still a difference in the power levels we saw portrayed.

No doubt the Kryptonians are stronger, but that's how they're supposed to be. But it's not like Superman threw a mountain into the sun or anything like that. Power levels are generally fine so far.

Would they not be fine if he threw a mountain in to the sun? 😕

I wouldn't care, but some people would ***** and moan about it.

It's Superman. Comes with the territory.

Far as I'm concerned, as long as he sticks to at least something of a defined powerset and isn't like Reeve, I don't mind how far they push it. The story just has to be good.

Do you think Snyder caught the spirit of Superman in MOS?

A couple of times, yes. Enough to make me think he's capable of showing more in future movies.

True. But too much will push the general audience away somewhat.

I don't agree, tbh.

If they started chucking planets or something else equally ridiculous in a film then this would probably be too much to swallow.

I agree. Stated my reasons in my previous posts.

I find it strange that some people actually want that, and they dont realize how dumb that would be. It wouldn't translate well into film even if done right.
All they can say is that "It is portraying the characters in true comic book power levels. I dont see the problem".
If you want to make a good film that is also successful and appeals to the general audience you have to tone that crazy stuff down.
Its like some think these movies are strictly made for die hard comic book fans only so they can get hard with on screen feats.

SMH.

Abhi would love it but he isn't really a fan of superman at all tbh.

We will see.
