Studios are always worried. WB was worried about Mad Max as well. Whenever a studio places millions in a movie, they generally worry. Nothing is new here.
They are petrified. If it's a great film they should have nothing to fear. I called it wouldn't be just like that train wreck Man of Steel but nobody wanted to listen. Snyder isn't great at all. I can just see the perspiration coming off Golgo's brow now. Oh god it's happening again.

@ Bruce: Can't use that logic when Phantom Menace was such a massive hit back in 1999 but clearly did get mixed reactions (probably more negative nowadays).

Just like MOS, the product placement has covered around 70% of it's budget. Or around there according to this article.

Smart move on WB to open this film in US, China, and Japan. This will have one of the biggest OW WW in history.

This movie opens up on March 25th globally but more importantly they will open up in China, UK and Japan on the same day, well what does this mean? It means they are going to make BANK on the opening weekend not just domestically but internationally because China, UK and Japan are the biggest international markets for Hollywood movies.

All the money in the world won't mean anything if it's shit.

Snyder needs to be fired.

I disagree, but I think they should not give him as much control as he seems to have.

Said it before and I'll say it again, even if this isn't very good, it's going to make at least a billion or just around where it might as well be a billion. Freaking Batman.

We will find out how good it is soon enough.

Probably this tbh

I like pretty much every Snyder movie with the exception of Sucker Punch. But that was strictly a Snyder movie. Watchmen is probably my favorite comic book movie with the most replay value. And he had a good script to work with. MOS was solid and I also loved his Dawn of the Dead remake. Ben Affleck had the right idea to bring in Chris Terrio, because the script so far sounds pretty damn good, so I'm not worried about this.

Of course it could still suck. Definitely in the cards, but I would bet otherwise.

You will love it no matter what. Robtard in a nutshell.

I really don't see Batman as a guarantee of anything by itself.

Batman Begins didn't do anything big, it made slightly less than Superman Returns at the Box Office.

And the Dark Knight did huge because of the publicity surrounding Heath Ledger's death.

Yeah, they kept that momentum going for the Dark Knight returns, but this isn't Baleman, so all of that momentum is not going to carry over.

This is a new, untested Batman.

There is just as good a chance of this making under a billion, than it meeting or exceeding that. Especially if the word of mouth is not great.

It will open quite big though, but will it fizzle out? Decent chance that it does.

Batman has been a consistent performer at the box office. If this film is good, it will smash a billion. It also has 3D to help its gross.

I like Snyder as a director. Genuinely. I also liked a lot of Man of Steel.

There are just so many unknowns with this movie, and I think it's gonna be the one movie of the year where I won't know going in to it if I'm going to like it.

Affleck's Batman (and Irons's Alfred) is literally the only thing I look at and think "yeah, that's going to be awesome for sure".

Cavill, as good as he is, needs Superman to be written well.

Eisenberg and Gadot could be really good, or they could be ****ing awful. The uncertainty worries me.

Doomsday shouldn't be here at all unless they have something massive in mind for him later on.

The cameos could also suck, but they're cameos.

Amy Adams needs some serious work if she's gonna be a good Lois Lane.

Like I said, it's the uncertainty. I was pretty sure I was gonna enjoy Deadpool. I know I'll think X-Men is anywhere from "not great" to "okay". I'm sure Captain America will be good. Suicide Squad, unless the Joker is truly awful, looks like fun.

If they get the Superman and Batman dynamic right, then I think the movie will flourish on that alone. I am encouraged that they brought a new writer in, but whether that turns out well, we'll see.

At least this movie hinted that at least some of the characters will have a sense of humour, which is nice.

If it doesn't get past a billion I'll laugh my ass off. If two DC icons can't do it I'll laugh and point.

Especially with 3D now.

Don't buy that. Making almost $400mill was pretty good in those days for BB. Especially given it was the first Batman film since Batman & Robin.

Yes there was Heath Ledgers death to help hype up TDK. But that film was clearly loved. And yes the hype carried forward to TDKR which didn't have Heath, so no idea why it wouldn't still carry on for this.

Remember all those movies were only in 2D as well.. It had that mega success without any 3D sales! Batman is just damn popular now.

For all you Snyder Haters, just remember one thing.

15 years ago, Joel Schumacher was given the greenlight to direct this.
