Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

So most critic sites have it pretty low. The general audience sites have it at 74% on RT and IMDB has it at a 7.7, so the GA seems to like it, not sure how that will effect the word of mouth.

I give give it a 7 out of 10. Zak needs to go, hopefully Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are good, I'm confident they will be because Snyder isn't involved.

74% is basically a C, that isn't very good considering what DC intended this movie to be.

Yah, I really forsee a huge dropoff in sales the next few weeks. BvS isn't a movie that really lends itself to be watched over and over. It's long and it's bleak; and not that much fun. Still worth watching once at least in theaters.

Surprisingly it had a good Thursday.

That's not too surprising. That preview number is a little more than AOU! Predictions say around 160-170. Depending on how the WW numbers are, it could hit 1b.

Everyone knows this movie will make alot of money the first weekend.
What I doubt this movie will have is legs.

AOU dropped 60% in it's second weekend with hardly any competition. Let's see what BVS does.

And here I thought 50% was a C. Since its the definition of average.

Talking with Sam right now.

So, Golgo, want to go to Russia or not? Snowden was safe here, there's no reason you couldn't be.

If you got a 50 in school, what letter grade did you have?

Fan ratings on Fandango is 4/5 and 7.7 on IMDB. It seemed the audience at my theater liked it, so it seems so far the GA likes it for the most part.

I predict the second weekend drop will be around 65%, which is around MOS. Still nowhere NEAR TDK numbers when adjusted. That movie still remains king.

@Silent

Depends on a school, actually 😛

Don't be a slave. There's a happy life waiting for you and your family in Russia. Sam will take care of you there, I'll convince him somehow.

YouTube video

I wouldn't compare a movie rating site to a school grading system. On RT 75% or higher is deemed certified fresh which is the highest rating.

This. Snyder is just not really a good director TBH. I have no idea how he got this "godfather" role in the DC Cinematic universe. And this is coming from a guy who liked MoS.

First thing they need to do is ditch him, recast Superman for someone who isn't so wooden, and have the next films lose the wannabe Nolan "why so serious?" vibe. Just tell a story that's natural for the characters, not this forced dark shit.

So according to you there is no difference between a 75% and 100% ratings as it relates to how much the GA liked a movie?

So I just got back from seeing this and I'd give the movie a solid 6/10. The movie felt like it was trying to cram too much in a limited time frame.

I thought Batlfeck was pretty cool even though I'm not sure about

Spoiler:
The body count he racks up in the movie. I mean he goes through the trouble of branding folks yet doesn't want to hold back on explosions/bullets

I also found myself enjoying WW's appearance though I might be a bit more forgiving than the rest of the posters here far as performances are concerned. Cavil was pretty bland though I think it's more that he didn't get any lines: any other actor cast in the role would have a similar problem IMO. Speaking of Supes

Spoiler:
Why couldn't he heard the bomb inside the wheelchair and why does seem to go for tackling baddies into plants/factories because he does it again with the Doom Troll thing.

Well this was a bummer though I do hope WW gets decent treatment in her first film.

I don't think RT would call a movie certified fresh if it was average.

2 things:

1) Rotten Tomatoes is an aggregate site. It takes ALL the reviews submitted and uses that to gauge the movie's score.

2) BvS is not at a certified fresh rating. It's rotten according to RT.

Why not?
