Quote me. I posted fan reactions, so not everyone hated his character and he did get some praise from certain critics. 🙂

Anyway, I keep hearing Batffleck and Alfrerons were done right.

Ben was ok. I'm hopeful for a solo movie.

It's just doing OK in China, but outstanding in other parts of the world like Mexico (second best opening of all time) and India. Among others. If those numbers are correct or hold up, it will be the biggest super hero debut WW of all time. Until CW comes out that is.
It did 21 million opening day in China, I wouldn't call that ok, that's great considering MOS did 25 million the whole weekend.

Critics are a small majority, though.
That's what people don't understand, the critics make up like 250 people or so compared to the tens of thousands that make up the general audience.

Point is, it's all judged the same. Whenever a movie is brought up, particularly a Marvel movie, people on this site rip it if it gets a low score by the critics. DC is being held to the same standard. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I can't help it if critics don't like the movie.

No Marvel movie has ever had a low score.

You're talking MCU films right? Or the Fox, Sony, etc?

Well, I suppose it depends on your definition of Low. I consider anything under 70% to be low. The Incredible Hulk (2008) for instance.

But yah, there has been some stinkers outside of the MCU for sure.

By RT definition it's below 60%. From what I know no MCU film has dipped that low.

Well, either way, we use sites like RT, IMDB and Metacritic (as well as others) to rate movies because that's the universal measuring stick. Especially RT. I don't always agree with them but they do tend to be more right than wrong.

I do feel like BvS got the shaft but I also don't feel it's deserving of a 74% fan rating either. I still feel it's more in the 60-65% range tbh.

DC just needs to make better movies.

I'd give it a 6/6.5-10. The visuals were gorgeous, Ben Affleck as Batman worked and his fight scenes were well done, Gadot did decent as WW, but the flashbacks/dream sequences were needless, there were too many tonal shifts, and it wasn't as good as MOS.

Yah, pretty much spot on with my review. Batman's fight scene at the end with the thugs was fantastic (despite the killing). We need more of that. My guess is after
Spoiler:
Superman comes back (because let's face it, he's not dead) he convinces Bruce not to be so violent and tries to get him to just punch people really hard. Lol, or Batman could give no ****s and keep killing people.
Dunno.

They just legitimately failed to tell a story with two of the most iconic figures in Comic book history. I don't even like half of the Justice league aside from the Trinity, if DC doesn't actually hire someone who can tell a story without flashbacks, an inconsistent pace, and believable events they're always going to lose to Marvel.

I enjoyed Winter Soldier/MOS/The Nolan trilogy more than this, and there is so much potential here its sad Snyder ruined it

Shit is selling out fast at my theater. Pretty much all showtimes thus far for good Friday. Looks like WOM is decent to good so far.

okay just got back from seeing this...

lets start with the GOOD..

simply put the only good thing was Batman.... he stole the show.

THE BAD.. everything else... the story sucked.. WHo wrote this shit???? no cohesiveness , the tonal shift sucked badly.. the flashbacks/dream sequences were not even needed. Gadot was fair, however wasn't even needed..

the cameos

Spoiler:
Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg weren't needed at all.

Eisenberg stunk up the film.. he was cringeworthy and overacted..

I wanted so badly to say that this wasas good as The Dark Knight or Cap Winter Soldier but canot. Sadly this rates from me a 6-7/10
