That's fair. I can't say I really disagree but to me it doesn't take away from RDJ's Tony.

I'm definitely looking forward to a solo Batman movie now though. I think with the cast they have it could be Winter Soldier levels good.

I'm assuming Ben is working with Johns for the new Batman movie. Ben was absolutely the right actor for the job.

The poll is more ****ed then it was before.

Terrible justification. He's Batman. He doesn't kill. It's a pretty big point to his character. Otherwise, he would have killed Joker and the rest of his rogues gallery by now.

Batman not killing is a fairly new idea (at least, relative to his history). If they were basing Affleck's version on modern Batman, then yes, it would be out of place. But they're using Frank Miller's version, which existed at a time when Batman cared much less about the lives of his villains.

I'm not saying they should have used that version at all, but they did, so like it or not that's what we get.

And Affleck in more control means we should get something special, I hope. After BvS I genuinely feel like he has a better understanding of the character than the people working on BvS.

Now that the film didnt live up to expectations, I dont see how any fan of the source material would want it to succeed. It just means more Snyder fuqing things up with his below average movies.

Pretty much Transformers franchise syndrome : Make tons of money with shitty movies.

Which would be true if it was a bad movie.

It's a flawed movie with its issues but to call it Transformers level??

GTFO

Yeah, that is a pretty big plot hole. How do you explain in universe how Joker or any of Batman's enemies are still alive when he is so clearly willing to kill? Stupid plot hole from a stupid movie. If I had to pick one word to describe this movie, it would be disappointment.

They need to give Superman something to do damn it. They need to make him inspirational. They have to have him TALK. Say heroic and uplifting and inspirational things, as well as do them. Batman's speech about people at the end of the movie? Superman should have been the one to say that. They need to show how he lives up to Jor-els quote from MOS "You will give them an ideal to strive towards..." They need to have him do things like that single page of All-Star Superman where he stops that girl from killing herself. They can say how great a hero he is all they want. They need to SHOW it. That one montage of Superman saving people? Best part of the movie for me. Should be more things like that. Also, Superman doesn't seem like Superman in the this universe. He feels more like injustice Superman frankly. Man of Steel didn't do him justice either, but damn it, it did much better than this movie did. I don't know about the rest of you Superman fans, but a Superman that reminds people of Injustice Superman is not the image I want the general public to have of Superman.

It's obvious that the critics are on a smear campaign. That's why there is a vast difference between their score and the audience's.

IMDb is the only one of this which is based on the general audience ratings. And even that isn't too reliable as you pointed out.

So not sure what point you're trying to make. Everyone one knows this didn't get good reviews. What we're saying is that's not a reflection of what the general audience thinks of this movie.

Also RT being owned by WB is a silly thing to bring up, given all RT does is collect ratings from independent critics.

Dude that's like your opinion. You're not talking for all fans. This movie left me wanting more.

That said I would prefer they didn't pick Snyder, but it's too late for that, and he's doing fine IMO.

The point was that people are complaining about RT like there is a conspiracy. I pointed out that it wasnt only RT, and in fact RT is owned by the same company that made the movie. Which furthers how stupid and silly the notion that there is any smear campaign or conspiracy.

WB/DC is pretty much destroying themselves and for some reason its everyone else fault? It has to be Marvel shills, a conspiracy, paid off reviewers, smear campaign.

But NOT in a million years would Snyder,WB, DC, and co. be to blame. Thats too outlandish to even suggest.

Who are you to decide that?

A lot of what I've been reading from critics is pretty true. The plot was badly edited a times. The run time was too long for the story they were trying to give. Some scenes seemed forced and not all characters were used that well at times.

These are legit critiques of the movie and critics are probably going to care more about those than we would. What matters is if you liked it or not. I think this definitely a one time watch for me.

No ones saying its a conspiracy. We're saying Critics are not in line with the GA.

As for a Marvel conspiracy, Abi already mentioned his reason for ignoring critics was that they gave Superman Returns a high score.

I do blame WB for rushing into Justice League. That said Snyder actually held them back and encouraged them to do another 3 movies prior to JL.

so.. why aren't the Superman lovers crying over he loss to Batman 😆 😆 😆 😄

Because Batman used K-nite, and Supes didn't want to fight. Nothing surprising there.

If people don't want to be spoiled maybe they should stay out of a thread dedicated to the discussion of the movie.

That's not the rules. People might still want to read what others thought of the film before seeing it. I know I did.

Inhuman logic, of course. ✅
