i'd rather have idris than denzel.. they're just gonna cg the shit out of denzel to make him look younger and buffer.. and i'd rather have cranston to be lex, too.. the rock needs to stay away from this movie..
agreed
I just read an article saying Jason Momoa's joined the cast.
But what's baffling me is the same article states the movie is being titled, "Superman: Fear Of A Black Planet."
WTF?
And now it's been pushed back to 2016.
They seem to be having trouble finding a release date/ year that doesn't clash with a Marvel movie. Good luck on that.

I wish he would have gotten the part of Drex.
Anyways, I also read another article where he says its only a rumor and he will not be playing in the movie. So I assume its up in the air at this point.
As to earlier posts...I agree the movie is in trouble.

So what are they going to do in the mean time? Nothing? Does it really take so long just to put 2 superheroes together. Marvel in the space of 5 years introduced us to Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, gave us a Hulk film and IM sequel and the Avengers.
They had a much more difficult task because they're characters were not well known and they had to give them exposure.
Whilst WB is now taking 3 years just to put Batman and Superman together with no solo movies for anyone else? And then what? They're just going to jump into Justice League?
I really can't be bothered being excited for this anymore. Give me Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America 2, Avengers 2 and Ant-Man news instead. Because that's 4 exciting crossover films Marvel are giving me by next year. Whilst WB just keep working on putting Superman and Batman together.

Why is it over budget?
It's a valid assumption. They usually do take risks with their budget for DC films. For Superman/Batman it's almost certain they will.
That sucks. But not totally unreasonable. No need to rush it. 2014 is already here and for them to not have started major production yet and it expect it to release just next year sounds a bit extreme.
To put this in perspective, TDK released 3 years and TDKR 4 years after their last installment.
Not sure what else Snyder has on his plate. I'm assuming the 300 sequel he's "producing" is already done. Nolan had a few gems in-between his Batman films.
I'm going to continue to support Affleck. Everyone's seems to be jumping on the bandwagon to either hate or bash him. I have all the faith in the world in Snyder.
The thing is that while Marvel is definitely releasing more films, their films are basic popcorn flicks, fun, enjoyable, and entertaining, but not much substance to them beyond that. DC seems aimed to make Oscar-level (not exactly, but you get the point) epics. While Avengers was indeed enjoyable, by comparison The Dark Knight was an amazing epic dealing with philosophical concepts of anarchy and chaos. MoS attempted to be epic, but failed because it was overbloated, but still the attempt at the epicness can be seen. Green Lantern was an attempt to capture the simple-mindedness of the Marvel films, but was too simple-minded. Either way DC seems to be trying to make memorable masterpieces, which take time, whereas Marvel just wants to make passable films (i.e. IM3), which don't require the same amount of time to produce.

Batman begins, Dark knight rises, mos, green lantern weren't anything but popcorn flicks. With the exception of Dark Knight,

It's not extreme at all. They've been doing all the pre-production stuff for this film since mid 2013.
Days of Future Past and TASM 2 are not even out yet, but still sequels to both are confirmed for around the same date as MOS2 (the new date that is).
Something is definitely wrong here. Especially when they had a confirmed date in 2015. Either they're scared of the 2015 competition, or they're starting from scratch with the script and pre-production.

Honestly I'm not even thinking about whose in what role anymore. My mind now is only on what movies we're going to get and how good they're going to be.

With the exception of Dark Knight, DC films have not been on par with marvel films.
Pretty subjective opinion. Generally TDK Trilogy has better reviews and ratings than any Marvel movie, including Avengers.
The first 2 are easily on par with Marvel's best to me.
