Ok, so I just got in my car after the movie. I have to say I did enjoy certain aspects of it. The first act in parts was actually pretty good in so much as showing Batman's motivations and his perspective of things from the Kal/Zod fight in MoS and it's fallout. He was easily the most fleshed out character in the movie. I also liked the fact that
Spoiler:Superman, if you can even call him that, is a disappointment in these new films, and that really has to do with the legacy that the Superman property has. Superman is supposed to be THE superhero among superheroes. Snyder's reduced him to a self loathing conflicted bore. You never really get a connection with him. The scenes where they showed him
KGBeast was used in the film, though not by his code name, and he apparently gets blown up by Batman when he shoots the hose on his flamethrower, so it's highly unlikely he'll be in Batman's rogues gallery for his solo films. It was a nice touch though in my opinion. I really want some of the members of Batman's rogues gallery that haven't been on the big screen to get some air time.
Spoiler:Lois was tossed into far too many situations just to serve as a plot device which in my opinion hurt the overall narrative along with the fact that there are so many threads in this film but they never really get knit into a tapestry. Wonder Woman was passable at best. The overall story surrounding her seems interesting but from what she did in this film (and the limited screen time she actually received) I would have preferred her stand alone film come first and she have a bigger role in an actual JLA formation film. Speaking of which, the
pulling the capsized ship through the ice and saving the exploding rocket crew was dope and classic Superman action, but they never really established why he'd have a monument to him in Metropolis considering the proximity between the events of MoS (and all of the death and destruction therein) and this film. It really felt unearned. I also don't like how they basically used that as an excuse to make a statement regarding contemporary mainstream media and having the obligatory Anderson Cooper and Nancy Grace cameos (though I didn't mind Soledad O'brien's cameo. Always loved me some Soledad, though I think this universe's Soledad O'brien died in the explosion at the Capitol if I recall correctly.
Spoiler:
Flash cameo during the dream sequence was pretty whack. I don't understand why some people lauded it. He looked terrible, and it kinda seemed like he was warning Bruce about a possible future where the Injustice: Gods Among Us scenario takes place moreso than the coming of Darkseid. Superman talks about how he lost his world (Lois) and blames Batman for it. The parademons seem to have just been tossed in inexplicably since most of the other New Gods tie-ins were removed from the theatrical cut. I can see where someone who doesn't read the comics would be really confused by that sequence. Also, while I'm at it, those surveillance video tie-in clips in the email were disappointing. The Cyborg clip in particular. It looked very Syfy. And having his torso just hanging in a hole board like that was an interesting take. I wasn't feeling it. I didn't mind Aquaman or Flash as much though I feel they were unnecessary.
Lex Luthor was terrible, but I'm holding out hope that
Spoiler:Doomsday was wasted in this film. A real disappointment given what he's supposed to be.
Lex Sr. is still out there somewhere and we'll get the real Lex. Eisenberg's character alluded to the fact that Lexcorp was built and named after his father so this is supposed to be Alexander Luthor, not typical Lex. He comes across as a caricature of a millennial tech magnate who is a militant nihilistic atheist. Poor direction. I don't even blame Eisenberg. Snyder had to greenlight this approach and it was terrible. I did, however, like the fact that Mercy was introduced, though I believe she was also killed in the Capitol explosion.
All in all, while I don't feel like I wasted my money, this isn't a film I'd pay $12 to see again unless I was buying it as an HD digital video from Amazon, and even then I'd torrent it versus buy it. There's some good stuff here but overall it just seems cluttered with a lot of dead end plot lines like the
Spoiler:
North Africa massacres (RIP Jimmy Olsen) and Senate Hearings which carry no weight whatsoever into the latter parts of the film, Grandma's Peach Tea notwithstanding.
5.75/10.

It's doing well in most markets sans China and Korea, but holy shit, I didn't expect that to happen. Ben SHOULD do a good job.
It's drops aren't good. It had a good Monday holds due to a deflated Easter Sunday (just as I said) but it's drops on Tuesday and Wednesday are large. Not a good sign... Actually, no, a great sign as I want this film to have a poor box office.

If it finishes above 900, it's not really poor box office.
This isn't just any old movie. It's Batman v. Superman, the two biggest and greatest heroes going head to head. Anything less than a billion dollars is mediocre considering how well other far smaller comic properties are doing.
I mean for christ sakes, this film may have a smaller domestic gross than Deadpool. That's just pathetic.

I posted links before its hold has been decent during the week and it's expected to make 1Bill. But will find out for sure after the weekend.

Omg Golgo that would be terrible. What world you living on? I'm living in a world where Deadpool just made well over 700mill on a 60mill budget and without China. And this is Batman + Superman + Wonder Woman.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is going to sail past $ 900 mill. As will Deadpool 2. How embarrassing would that be for Snyder?

To be fair, you and I tore TFA to pieces in it's thread. If BvS has disappointed the audience from KMC then they have a right to vent. 😛
That was due to genuinely being disappointed in the movie as a fan. And I still wasn't calling people who defended it "fanboys" 😬
Whereas Most These guys were against the film from day 1 from before the release and just seem like the Anti-DC Brigade who couldn't be happier.

Well he's just Golgo's intern, can't really blame him.
You're officially not worthy of that Rick Grimes picture. Rick told me he loves Snyder and thinks you're a loser.

No. It's holds on Tuesday and Wednesday are horrendous. A -19% drop on Tuesday is downright terrible and then Wednesday drops a further 33% down from that...
Furious 7, another Easter movie, made a million more on it's first Wednesday despite the fact that it made 20 million less that first weekend. That's not a good sign for BvS's legs.
