True. But we got an elseworlds version of Batman in this movie, and a Superman with all the personality of an old shoe. I'd say the characterization isn't that great. It's not Cavill's fault that they told him to be completely and utterly boring and brooding.
I still blame people for hyping up Frank Miller tbh.

If I were looking for a happy medium as a director I'd shoot more for the Superman TAS/JL/JLU depiction of Superman mixed with a lil Reeves as far as tone/personality is concerned. Snyder has gone more the videogame/Injustice route, even hinting at the fact thatSpoiler:
if Lois dies Superman would become a despot in the dream sequence/vision of the future from Flash.
As long as he wasn't the superdick from the final season, i'd be fine with that.

I've been wanting them to give DC their own film studio for years
You, me and anyone with sense, I'd imagine.
Going forward DC better give audiences an actual reason to care about superman because as of now he's completely unrelatable and seems to have no compelling purpose.
I think I actually began to actively dislike Superman and his earth fam when Martha Kent says "save the world or don't, you owe it nothing" and then Clark nods in agreement... That's not what the f uck superman is supposed to be about

Superman doesn't owe the world anything though. The entire point of the character is that he helps people because he can, not because his parents/uncle were shot in some alley and he wants to do right by them.
I'm not saying it was delivered well, but the point she made is pretty in line with Ma Kent, I think.

Well said👆
Someone actually understands this.
Originally posted by -Pr-The fact that his mother was encouraging him to not save the world is ridiculous imo. The Kent family is supposed to instill in Clark the qualities that he should use his unique abilities and powers to help the world and be a brightness and to embrace humanity. Not to internalize his uniqueness and hide his powers or use them only if he feels like it.
