Firstly I liked BvS. But I do think a lot of people would have appreciated it more if the back story was properly developed in solo Batman and WW movies. A lot of the build up in this film could have been left out. If you had a MOS sequel on top thenSpoiler:would have meant a lot more being his 3rd film.
Superman's deathSecondly this isn't just an ensemble franchise like X-Men or GOTG, where everyone's a mutant, or everyone's an alien. This is a "multi-franchise" ensemble movie, where every character has a completely unrelated origin to their superpowers, and is a separate franchise on their own. You need to properly develop that to have them in the same Universe.
Heck even the JL cartoon had more build up than these films. They had a solo Batman and solo Superman series first, before a Batman/Superman event, and they even introduced Flash and Green Lantern in full episodes of Superman before jumping into JL. And that was a Shared Cartoon Universe. But they can't be bothered to give the shared film Universe the same respect.
We've argued this in the past, but they've done it the jumping in way now, and there's simply not enough hype for JL. Nor will the final product be appreciated as much as it could have been, just like with BvS. I mean they're going to have to waste time in JL going into Aquaman and Flash's and Cyborg's background/origin. Screw that.

stop fighting because their moms have the same name.Is that true? 😂
Spoiler:
Batman didn't do his detective work and got caught off guard when he finds out Superman has a mother. It shocked his little mind and subdued THE RAAAAAAGE. Then they become besties right afterwards. No, really! Immediately afterwards. And Batman is going to be the brain of this team???

It's definitely much easier to do an ensemble team movie if you've had a host of solo films to develop the characters for sure. I'm just saying that it can be done without any buildup of the right movie makers are behind it. Had BvS been amazing then no one would be complaining about no solo movies before JL.
It can be done but it would have to be a good to great script and a good director. Like Darth Thor says, they all have different origins stories for their powers. It's hard to start off of that without origin stories. It wasn't done well at all because they don't know what they're doing. They skipped to a versus movie, that is also an ensemble movie, with poorly edited future storyline teasers (Injustice/New Gods), and that mashes the Dark Knight Returns and Death of Superman storyline into one. Then they gave it to Zack Snyder and told him to make it with the same tone as Nolan's Bat man films. No way was this going to be an amazing movie ever when you look at the elements that created this film in the first place.
They should stop JL production and focus on good solo films first at this point. Darkseid's coming should be featured and felt across those solo series first. They should build up Superman's death in those as well. My guess is they'll resurrect Superman next year in JL movie and waste the opportunity to build up his death.

We don't trust WB to make a good ensemble movie (using multiple different franchises) without making solo movies first, because they already missed the mark with their current ensemble movie. It can be done, but it hasn't been done in this particular case. No one will lose interest in Justice League if they have to wait longer for it while they are already being satiated with good prequels.
We had this argument with Golgo over a year ago and look at the state of the DCCU, now. Do you still want to support the way WB is doing things when it is clearly affecting the quality of their movies?

It's not a requirement if the characters have already been fleshed out. Otherwise it is, imo.Serenity only developed River, and got Simon and Kaylee together.
Mal, Jayne, Book, Kaylee, Morena Baccarin's character I can never remember, Wash, Wash's wife that's in Suits now; they didn't develop. But they didn't need to, because they'd already been shown to be rounded and developed in the show. Characters people identify with are always better when they've been given time to develop and grow.
Avengers was enjoyed by the general public because a lot of them had seen the previous movies like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk etc. They'd had those movies. The Justice League won't have that.
he used his hearing.
shhh, hack Snyder forgot that...
