I don't think anyone here is giving Snyder and Co. a pass or implying it. We are less likely to believe it can be done when the wrong people are in charge.
Some plot holes I have to ask about.
1. Grandma's peach tea. Was it really what the movie tried to imply it was? If yes, how come the Senator or Superman didn't smell it? Are we to assume that there were additives that rendered the smell and that's why no one noticed it until she turned it and saw the writing?
2. Did Batman and Superman ever wonder about how that guy could afford such a nice chair? Even insurance companies would not fork over money to buy him some that expensive. You would think that would raise questions regarding his involvement and who else was involved in funding him. But nope, nothing goes beyond that.
3. When Superman flew down, before attacking that warlord guy and killing him, did Supes not see those dead men or was he assuming they were just sleeping?

Batman was sending the guy checks, he didn't know they were being returned until the courtroom date. So him having a nice wheelchair isn't eyebrow-raising.
Also yes, it was what you think it was. No smell because it was sealed.

So Bruce didnt bother to look into who funded him the money for such a chair. People died in that attack and he did not even bother to look into who was behind it. Did he just assume the disabed guy pulled off that attack all by himself. Lazy writing.
