Yeah I honestly think the killings were all justifiable in this movie version.

Fans can't honestly read the comics & think half the crooks survive the brutal bashings that Bats gives them.

He has always dished out the level of brutality to the level of crime committed.

There's a similar scene in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Rises in which the batmobile is mowing down the mutant gang. The only difference is in the comics batman used rubber bullets strategically to incapacitate his enemies whereas in the movies he used real bullets to kill his enemies...

Honestly this is all a moot point. The biggest problems with this movie were not the fact Batman was a killer. It was a ton of other things.

Are you referring to the graphic novel or the animated version or both?

In the novel his inner monologue is "Rubber bullets...honest." with a crazy grin on his face. I can't remember if he says the same in the animation.

That was honestly the only disappointment with the a animated version was the lack of his inner monologue showing he was slowly going crazy in his old age.

I think it's also a moot point.
But it seems to be the pettiest issue so many are hung up on.

Is Gods and Monsters any good? Worth paying for?

I'll be honest. I only saw videos on youtube. The Batman Vs Harley fight was awesome.

Ah right. It's not available to rent on Amazon digital. Only to buy. So a bit of a risky purchase until someone tells me how good it is.

Look at this tight ass. Buy it you cheapo.

Actually you can rent it for $5.00.

It's worth watching, but it's not one of the top-shelf DC animated flicks, imo.

Worth the $5.00 if the link above from SM works for you.

No mines Amazon.co.uk. Don't get all the American perks, but I do get Civil War first 😉

So in your mind, how would've BSV played out if Bats didn't kill the bad guys but still wanted to kill/destroy Supes?

How would've each violent confrontation with the bad guys end?
Bats hand cuffing them & calling the cops?

I have yet to complain about Batfleck killing, but yes, that's what an ideal Batman would do. The "self-defense" card doesn't work because Batman is a vigilante (which is illegal), not a licensed police officer. He is putting himself in situations where he will have to take justice into his own hands. Batman avoiding killing at least keeps him on the already thin line he walks on. The GCPD will tolerate him for making their job easier and wont pursue him for illegal activity that isn't worth it.

So apparently BvS did inspire Civil War:

Competition is a good thing for this industry. Marvel and DC complete each other 🙂

curse you dammit 😄

Yea, competition makes Marvel do everything they can to make great movies, if only DC would do the same.

Marvel does it better. that's the point. Marvel makes compelling movies while DC let's Snyder do whatever the hell he wants.

I know you liked BvS and that's fine, but to me this seems like the only truly great thing to come out of BvS so far.

If Affleck's solo Batman film kicks ass, that will be another.

Hmm yeah.. If only DC could ever make a good movie. Can't think of a good DC movie in the last 10 years can we.. Not even one that was critically acclaimed, and had a massive role in increasing the popularity of superhero movies as well. Hmm yeah not even 1.

Oh wait...

Well I do think the films Snyder isn't directing will be more Universally liked. Snyder tends to make divisive films, which is why I argued from day 1 he wasn't the right guy for Justice League.

Dc has made very good films just not one in their combined universe. Well according to you batman v superman was but let's look at that steep drop off. Looks like people didn't agree. Told ya.

Are you under the impression that good and great mean the same thing?

So you think there's never been a "great" DC movie?
