You're taking things way out of proportion. It's not Batman who has a problem with being too dark and gritty. What delusional madman would even think that? No, it's Superman who's abusing the dark and grittiness when he should be representing the light hearted portion of the movie. The heroes were supposed to be polar opposites of each other with different perspectives but everyone in the movie is a hypocrite. So much, it hurts. Literally it hurts.

Well to be fair, batman flat out murdered people. Superman never murdered anyone, in fact he saved the entire planet. As much as people argue that superman was a harbinger of death in MOS they NEVER give any logical reasoning to that argument. This leads to one of the biggest flaws in BvS..,batman had no motivation to want to kill superman. I only say all of this because you can't condemn superman for, "saving the world" and then defend Batman for murderinv people lol.

I should point out that I had NO problem with Batmans ruthfullness, not only because I understand the source material but because it fit the tone of the film and if this is your biggest complaint from BvS...,you're standards and priorities are too low. That movie felt like it didn't even have a script but instead they just made shit up each day they began filming

I know this is an ongoing debate, but I personally think, "Batman flat out murdered people" is taken way out of context.

There's only one scene (discounting the dream sequence) that shows Batman actually holding a fire arm & pulling the trigger at the guy holding the flame thrower.

Every other scene can easily be argued that Bats was defending himself.

Isn't the current Pro-Gun arguments based on the right to defend yourself?

If someone points a gun at me with the intention of killing me & I manage to grapple his gun off him & shoot him instead, is that legally considered murder or self defence?

😆

It wouldn't make you a murderer, but you aren't illegally fighting crime like Batman. Batman is still at fault, because he knows criminals are trying to kill him.

So an ideal Batman is a vigilante that goes after crooks committing petty crime & making a citizen's arrest?

An ideal Batman doesn't kill.

Might as well start reading Punisher if you want someone that kills.

^ Well he still wasn't Punisher level because Punisher specifically goes out for the kill. Whereas Batman did not (except for against Superman).

He did however kill criminals that were in his way, without a second thought.

So in your mind, how would've BSV played out if Bats didn't kill the bad guys but still wanted to kill/destroy Supes?

How would've each violent confrontation with the bad guys end?
Bats hand cuffing them & calling the cops?

Kinda the point I'm trying to make.
Bats didn't go out armed with a gun.
He turned the weapons the bad guys had against them.

Once again it's not considered murder if you're defending yourself in the scenes in the movie.

The ideal Batman is that vampire from Justice League Gods and Monsters 😛

I think they're all referring to the Batmobile action sequence where he's mowing down all the criminals in his way with the Batmobile's machine guns.

Is Gods and Monsters any good? Worth paying for?

I understand Batman and Superman's beef perfectly. It's essentially:

Supes: Hey Batman. You can't go around violating civil liberties and acting like you're above the law, like you're some God who gets to override the legal system and impose your own superior brand of justice. I actually AM a God and I have no problem being subjected to the legal system. Hell, I'm about to go to this Senate hearing to answer for what I've done. If I don't have the right to be above the law, you most certainly don't, Batty. So time for you to call it quits.

Bats: who gives a phuck what you say? You're a walking nuke. I personally witnessed you and the alien you summoned here collapse my building and cripple my friend. Humanity has no physical way to stop you, and you say we should trust you solely on the honor system, but thing is, either:
A) you're an alien and humanity has no reason to trust you
Or
B) you really are as human as you say, meaning you're a human with absolute power, you what they say about absolute power....
So either way, it's only inevitable that you are going to turn on us and wipe out the planet, so I'm going to have to shut you down while humanity still has the chance

And who fired the 1st shots at the dock?
Lex's henchmen.
They had a mounted gun in the vehicle firing on the Batmobile.
Plus all the henchmen were armed firing at Bats from the back of the SUVs & out their car windows.

Hey I'm totally fine with it. In fact I didn't even think about the "killings" until others mentioned it because I was just enjoying that scene so much.

Just pointing out that he was using guns. Guns on the Batmobile that is, which no one had a problem with when Keaton Batman used to do the same.

Yeah I honestly think the killings were all justifiable in this movie version.

Fans can't honestly read the comics & think half the crooks survive the brutal bashings that Bats gives them.

He has always dished out the level of brutality to the level of crime committed.

I'm actually reading The City Of Owls right now.

LOL to the No Kill rule.
