Don't forget youtube views which crush BVS, X-Men, and Deadpool. Not to mention CW first 2, I believe.
Which trailer are we talking about? I went onto youtube and counted. These are the top Trailers withe most views. According to this, Deadpool has the least social media buzz. It's box office total, however, looks to beat X-Men and only lost to BVS since it did not open in China and Australia. It's domestic sales beat BvS. So yes, Suicide Squad has more buzz than everyone of these films except Captain America. It does mean it will perform as well as Deadpool.

Yet, I didn't say it was the only indicator for box office or quality. Try again.

We will see when the BO numbers come in. You haven't given much reasons on why it couldn't break out.

TBH, I don't think BvS deserves to. Deadpool was a better movie by all accounts, imo.
Of course it was. But I'm pretty sure Fox is ecstatic about Deadpool's performance given it's tiny budget. Not to mention it outperformed all other X-Men related films to date.
And for it to beat BvS domestically is 100% down to the quality of both films.

Well most X-Men movies were average to crap, so I'm not surprised.
I'm hoping that Affleck's Batman is an improvement over BvS. I trust him more than I trust Snyder, and I really liked his performance in the movie, so hopefully BvS can end up being the Iron Man 3 of the DC movies.
^ Yeah Deadpool just goes to show how massive the X-Men franchise really could have been all along if they just followed closer to the source material.
Well though I didn't think it was a "great" film, I still found BvS to be overall entertaining. But yeah it needs to get a lot better. And I don't think Justice League will be under Snyder.
Yeah Affleck's Batman (written by both Affleck and Johns) should be something special. But I want more than just a great Batman film. I want a great Flash film and a great Green Lantern film and a great Shazam film.

Bryan Singer was just far too interested in making a gay parable. X-Men CAN do that, but they're still superheroes. There has to be a balance.
I think we'll honestly only get those if WB steps back and lets DC people have autonomy.
Look at Harry Potter. Those movies were so successful, and I would argue part of that is because they wouldn't dare change too much of Rowling's work.
These companies can't seem to understand is that pissing off the majority of the fans is NEVER a good idea.
Aye. Another thing I dislike is the tendency to look at DC characters being more mythological and therefore more open to interpretation.
Look at Captain America. He's a very complex character, sure, but as an archetype, he's very simple. Chris Evans has come a long way since those teen comedies, and it helps that there's really one definitive Captain America that, even as times have changed, has only adapted as much as he's needed to.
Then look at someone like Batman. I'll be the first to admit that I am not a fan of most of Frank Miller's work on Batman, but it's part of the larger problem in that characters like Batman and Superman are far too open to interpretation both in and outside of DC.
Look at Nolan. He didn't do to Batman what Favreau did for Iron Man. He took the basic elements of the character and made it his own, changing things in the process.
Compare that to say, the Arkham games, which is far more literal because Paul Dini wrote it. A man that because of his work on TAS, actually influenced the comics themselves.
I honestly think that these directors are given far too much room to change things because DC has never really shied away from having its elseworlds versions. They even celebrate things like the Earth One comics, whereas in Marvel, for better or worse, the most we seem to get is the Ultimate Universe, and in that Cap isn't really that different anyway.
It's part of why I'm so angry about Aquaman. It's like they don't want to make the comics come to life. They want to make THEIR version of a character. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't.
It didn't with BvS (as much as I enjoyed Affleck, and I really did).
Yeah well hopefully they've learned to stay away from elseworld versions for the films. I think with Johns in semi control of the film division we're most likely to get the most orthodox versions of the characters in the future.
Plus having Johns there is just a good way to have DC more in control of the films.
